how to beat google

My keywords are ranking well at the Google top 10 position but below to my competitors site, I have checked everything their backlinks, their content but unable to beat them online what I do to beat them online so that my keywords rank well above to my competitors.

I read alot of blogs and there is always hype about making money blogging but i wonder are these people paying for traffic to be sent ? How do people get millions of views on Youtube when they do not allow you you use tags on posts How do you go viral without paying for ads ? I am a newbie...
