Yeah, being in suggestions makes all the difference. No idea how to make that happen though... I've seen pages get 8-10k new fans a day being in suggestions, which is pretty insane.
You made only $800 with 500k uniques? I don't dabble with adsense but that's really low. Have you considered using cpa traffic in conjunction with adsense? Or maybe even amazon?

I agree, it's kind of low even for adsense earnings TBH. what does your overall CPC/CTR look like for that month? Do you have skype? Maybe we can bounce some ideas off each other. You should of definitely made at least 2k from that much traffic unless one or both of the above are total shit.

After reading this thread, I decided to make my own moves and create a website similar to yours.
I have some nooby questions though:
1) When did you start promoting your website? After how many posts? atm I have around 10 interesting posts, but is it enough? if not, how many posts should I have to start promoting?
2) You said you boost single posts rather than the fanpage/website. What exactly are these single posts? Why don't you post a "shared" content from your website to facebook, and then boost it instead?
3) Spending 100$ on facebook ads (to my fanpage) will be enough to get me some decent traffic? My goal is to make 10$ this week, but I don't have much money to invest.
Again, I'm a complete noob who is still learning a lot, I hope my stupid questions won't be bothered to be answered.

Thanks for starting this thread OP, I have a website similar to trending stories for which i generate the traffic through facebook by boosting the post.
the results which you got are really good as compared to what i am getting.
few things which i don't understand about boosting a post is .... no matter which countries i select my traffic is mostly coming from phillipines. the traffic stays study through out the day when ever i check there are at least 3-10 visitors on my website.
but when i try to boost the same post to US/UK/Austalia... my 10$ gets sucked within few minutes.
these are my FB Boost stats.

This was an awesome month and brought me some good money. Finally Adsense is starting to pay off a bit. I optimized ad placements resulting in higher CPM.
I had a lot to do this month so I had no time to answers all comments but I will try to catch up.

Yup, I think revenue could be better. And it actually is if you look at the new stats from September.
I am trying to get new revenue streams such as ad networks. I am also experimenting with affiliate programs but that is not easy because my site does not deliver real value and people are not searching for anything particular.
I optimised ad placements making more money from Adsense now. Maybe it has to take some time for a new site to get better ads from Google?
You know that I cannot post screenshots from Adsense...

Hey, thanks for the comment and good luck with your site. I just don't have the time to update this daily, sorry! But I am going to answer as much questions and share as much info as possible!
1) I actually started boosting my posts from post #1 because I needed visitors for my fanpage. I started with a picture of cute animals to get things going.
2) With single posts I mean that I am not promoting my fanpage or website with facebook ads because I want people to engage with my posted content. That can be pictures, videos or links to my website with the first two resulting in higher engagement = more likes.
3) This highly depends on your audience and your content. While CPC is higher for countries like US, UK or Australia there exist cheaper markets where you can reach more people with your budget. If you are short on money you could try to post in forums and community boards to get things going. But do not spam because you might get banned.

Thanks and good luck with your site! Countries like US/UK/Australia requiere higher budgets imo because CPC is higher compared to other countries. But there are other factors coming into play: The facebook algorithm decides and what price your ads are shown to your potential audience. Criteria for that decision is highly based on the first engagement with your post. So if it is good content with a catchy headline and many people click you are going to get cheaper CPCs.
You can also try to use the ad manager power editor to create more specific ads giving you the ability to go for impressions, clicks or optimised impressions (but you have the possibilities to set bid prices).

Yeah I know about that post from Glenn. And it seems legit that the guy he mentioned made $100k in a week. But I looked up the stats of his site and that was imo the only money he made as the site is no longer alive he stopped posting shortly after his one time success. Not a bad success though but I am trying to create a band that is going to last longer. Won't mind the 100k anyway

Looking good OP. How are you posting content onto your site? Do you have a plug-in that scrapes other viral sites and posts it on auto or do you copy/paste posts manually?
