I have over 100K emails from my old business, and I'm no longer in business. I uploaded about 5K from my old email address to getresponse, and sent out 2K emails, and they wouldn't let me. They said to call them and explain where I got this list. Did they opt in? Do they have my permission to send emails? Did you unsubscribe people from your list who don't want to? A big mess!

I have a new website. and I paid already, and they said in the post we will continue to bill you. Geez, I don't want them to bill me. What should I say when I call? Can I use my old business, which is legit emails?

Please help.

If those are really your emails (I doubt you have legit 100k anyway) you just explain it to them. But, usually, those super legit ESPs don't accept old lists or any list that is older than 1-2 years.

But fear not! You can just get remove bounces which were likely the reason for instant termination and retry with another ESP. Remove bounces with zeroboune, impressionwise or verify550.

Whether you can use them or not depends on your business location. In many countries, you are not allowed to use this kind of data for a different business, even if it’s yours, because those people subscribed to your previous business. Now, you need to opt them in for the new business.

I used ZeroBounce to clean some of my emails (5K). At the beginning of November, I was sending out 100 -200 emails a day. I think what triggered it was sending out 2K emails in a broadcast. I didn't bother calling them back because I saw my email pretty much telling me it was spam. When I sent out the other emails with 100-200 emails, I never got bounced, spam, or unsubscribes. Yes, I have over 100K legit emails from spending so much on ads.

This was a full-time job. I like to look at it as over 70K very active emails (buyers).

I say it all the time: don't rely on one income. Diversify. I used ads to create a 7 -figure business.

Does anybody have any autoresponders I can use? I built a new website in the same niche.

Sorry to bump. Does anybody have recommendations to send out my emails? Getresponse put a hold on my account and said I have to tell them where I got these emails. Did they opt in? All these emails are from my old business I collected from advertising.

The thing that gets me more upset is they billed me and said they will continue to bill me. Should I avoid the big autoresponders like constant content, MailChimp, etc.

Thank you.

The major providers like GetResponse, Mailchimp, and similar platforms will block you if you attempt to upload a large list of contacts. Instead, you could try a service like Mail250. They tend to be more lenient and won’t restrict you as much, but be aware that their delivery rates are not on par with the larger providers.

Alternatively, you can set up your own mailing server. You can hire someone on Fiverr to configure it for you—just search for "MailWizz," and you'll find plenty of options.

Here’s what I did:

  1. Purchased a Hetzner server with 10 IPs.
  2. Set up the server and warmed up the IPs for 2–3 weeks.
  3. Then, I started sending emails.
However, I made a mistake by not warming up the IPs sufficiently, which resulted in them getting flagged and burnt.

Thanks! The prices are cheap on Mail250. However, I wouldn't know where to start. My email marketing skills are not the best. I'm more of a PPC guy. What was the approximate cost for what you did?

Around 40 bucks a month plus setup fee from fiverr 20$
you can send me a dm if you have any more questions.

A friend used an old list of thousands of emails from their past business with shopify store. Good luck
