So, I have an e-book on amazon and kindle.

Now, I didn't intend to make money off of it. It's a short story, very niche and honestly can be a hard read if you are not into stories without inner monologue from the characters. I wrote it as a portfolio piece, something that shows that I can compose and edit.

Recently though, I've started to wonder if I COULD sell some copies. It's up there on the market place but I don't know how to get people to notice it without directly telling them. I tried to run an ad campaign but it didn't generate a single sale.

I want to use this as a learning experience for moving a product if I can. Any help would be appreciated.

What do you mean by "My Ebook Isn't Selling AND You Do Not Intend To Make Money Off It"?

I'm lost!

maybe u have to put the rigth keywords for that ebook, pay ads, etc etc.. I do the same thing like 8 months ago and just for fun, but I never sold anything, then I realize it was cause I didnt make it right, I was newie lol still do.. but I dont spend time on my ebook if it sells good, if not is ok

Plenty of writers out there who cannot get sales from their books.
Even famous writers had to go through this kind of frustrating experience before becoming famous.
Wellcome to reality.

The best type(s) e-book(s) to sell and will sell, is an -e-book teaching others how to make money, with a title such as "How to make US$5000 per month, the lazy way".
I am not being sarcastic : such e-books sell like hot cakes.

And graphic novels.

The dude that helps people get to and stay on the top 100 amazon best seller list, says as an author you need 30 books. So don't get discouraged, continue to be an author! If you read what successful authors done to break through, they all tried harder than you, that's the only difference.
