My computer has a virus - please help!

Some viruses and malwares are auto stat at boot time. Put your harddisk on another computer (the computer have installed with good antivirus and malware detecters) as a secondary slave .
Scan with that computer to your infected hard disk.

one of my clients had such crap on their computer... couldn't do shit to it. It wouldn't let me install any programs or anything like. It would say that the program i'm installing is a virus and that the access is blocked. What I did to fix this is:
1. Boot into safe mode without network access.
2. Run Combofix and let it do its thing.
3. DONE, it killed everything and repair what was corrupted.

Note:
Combofix isn't a tool you wanna play with. If you fuck up, you will have to reformat and install clean OS.

Cause this isn't a warez forum :)
lol, dude, that serial is for the malware! or you wanna pay for it? ;) Do not use other methods, use RKill, I know because I wrote an article about it, but it's in Spanish so. :D

Turn off your computer and make sure it powers down
Drop it in a 43-foot hole in the ground
Bury it completely, rocks and boulders should be fine
Then burn all the clothes you may have worn any time you were alive

Hey guys, I'm having some serious problems and not sure how to move forward.

I have taken all the feedback on-board. I first downloaded Ad-adware from Lavasoft and Malwarebytes on a non-infected computer. I opened these on my infected computer. On first attempt to install Ad-adware the computer crashed and re-booted, second attempt it installed but a scan picked up nothing.

Malwarebytes just won't open at all when I try to install it. I decided to go into safemode and download it directly. I think I had to turn my computer on about 5 times as in safemode it kept shutting down if I wasn't being active for 1min. I also could not connect to the internet (did select for networking).

Just before I was about to respond I saw the reply above for Rkill, i downloaded this on my non-infected computer but when trying to install (not in safemode anymore) I kept getting error messages that the file couldn't open.

I went to connect to the internet to download directly, but my browsers won't work. I have internet connection but FF won't connect to the internet, IE won't connect to the internet, I have Flock (still) which I use occasionally and Google opens but I can't search or open anything up.

Now my computer is frozen again.

I'm not sure what to do now guys, I am unable to install many of the programs recommended for one reason or another and I can't gain Internet access or run my computer in safemode properly.

Any suggestions?

We deal with malware like this every day cleaning them off our customers' computers. The suggestions to try Malwarebytes and combofix usually clean up anything that gets on there (if you can install them). If it won't let you run the installer you can also try renaming the file when you download it. Sometimes some of these forms of malware will block certain known anti-malware programs by blocking the .exe file that they are known to use. By renaming them sometimes the malware will not block it.

Be careful with Combofix. To give you an example of how Malwarebytes and Conbofix works, you can think of a counter or desk with a few pieces of trash on it. Malwarebytes is like someone going through and picking up the individual pieces of trash carefully, whereas Combofix is like someone getting angry and just throwing everything onto the floor :) It will get it clean usually but there is also a chance that it could damage your winsock files and settings in the process. If that happens and you are running XP you can usuallly get it working again by downloading and running WinSock Fix (just search on google for it - sorry I can't post links yet)

Let me know if you need any more help with it

I'm hoping that won't need to be the case, but it's felling like it. Hoping some feedback can help me save my computer.

Lol - it looks like you posted an update while it was typing that last post out. If you have access to another pc you can try downloading Hiren's Boot CD and burning it to a cd then booting from it on your infected pc. Then just follow the onscreen instructions to run the different software that is included on the cd

When things get THAT messy it is probably best to format the whole HDD and save yourself a lot of time. Burn all your important stuff on DVDs. Text files can be archived just like that, anything else should be RARed (not zipped) including docs, save games, xls and so on. Try not to keep any EXEs, ISOs etc. We've all been in your situation.

When you PC is healthy again, learn about virtual machines like VirtualPC or vmware and use them to browse the internet. First they don't leave any traces on your computer in terms of what were you doing on the internet and 2. once closed any malware you might've picked up goes into oblivion. VirtualPC offers that by default, on vmware you need to change an extra setting to restore its 'disk' to a clean state. An added bonus is that inside a virtual environment you can open the RARs and access the potentially infected stuff in them without worrying. I am not even using an antivir software anymore.

BTW, if you are not ready to format yet you can always reinstall windows on a separate partition if you have one or on another HDD and access your files this way (in order to archive them). But this second installation will get the same crap the moment you run some of the infected files. So just get Nero and WinRar there and burn away.

Why are you guys downloading X programs to get rid of it.

Simply: System restore the day before it got installed

Install an anti-malware program and scan. Done.

Because you need X programs to get rid of a badass rootkit. They can go into restore points as well.

Hey guys, On re-booting, my computer is just frozen, the bottom menu bar will not open and I cannot select anything I have re-booted twice and same thing is occurring. Ever since opening in safemode the computer has really started to have problems in loading up. I now don't know how I can get any of these programs on the comp to do a scan. Is there anything else I can try??

Back up and format dude, save time looking around for stuff

Ok I will reformat. Can any-one suggest a way to do this as I don't have any disc's and I also have not done this before. I have a compaq laptop running XP. Thanks again.

Just pay the ransom, get my earnings off to a good start today.
No seriously, try this.
Code:

I know what I'm talking about.
I can bypass every solution that has been mentioned above and I know fuck all.
The problem you face is all the above methods needs windows to boot before
they can operate. Unhackme runs before windows has booted.

is specially designed to detect and remove Rootkits.

A rootkit is a program that a hacker uses to mask intrusion and obtain administrator-level access to a computer or computer network. The intruder installs a rootkit on a computer using a user action, by exploiting a known vulnerability or cracking a password. The rootkit installs a backdoor giving the hacker full control of the computer. It hides their files, registry keys, process names, and network connections from your eyes.
Your antivirus can not detect such programs because they use compression and encryption of its files. The sample software is Hacker Defender rootkit.
UnHackMe allows you to detect and remove Rootkits.
