My site is hacked for five days already and have no idea what to do. I tried to access the files through cpanel and found out that all my sites (P.S. this is a shared hosting) have been modified lately and all were hacked.

I was about to perform a backup but then some of the files like wp-content were all missing. Is there any way I can still recover those sites? I already contacted my hosting provider but they haven't responded yet. What other measures can I do?

don't copy over the old files

rather take an xml backup of your content and import that into a new setup

with copying over old files, you might end up copying the malicious files too (if any)

I'm pretty sure your webhost will have a backup ;)
By the way, if they do not backup you should definitely switch to one that does.

Also, such a long response time of them is completely unacceptable. Have you tried calling them?
If you're making money with your website make sure to get a host that you can contact 24/7 via phone so you can sort out problems like that within minutes.
 
Not all hosting keep a backup, in the worth case you can take back your site page by page with the wayback machine, take this opportunity for learn and set your DNS to "sucurinet" for $10 / month
 
If a host takes more than a few hours to respond to a high severity ticket like this then they are completely useless.
 
Try to get backup from your hosting provider and restore website. If they don't have a backup hire specialists to clean up your website from malware. There is a few options: WHP (websitehostingparadise), Siteguarding, Sucuri (expensive one), SiteLock (had bad experience with them).
Restoring your website from backup is your first action but you have to figure out how your website has been hacked and close the backdoor.
 
if you have purchased the auto backup feature you are safe if not contact hosting provider
 
Man I'm sorry for you. You should have daily backups and restore to the last known clean install. Now it's gonna be really thought getting this back. Search google cache:url for your content and save some of it before it's deindexed or the hacked content takes over.

I hope your host had backups but I wouldn't count on it. You should do your own backups always.

bartosimpsonio, nobody knows this will happened, the web hosting side should be responsible for this situation, don't blame on renepaolo27, He's grieving right now
 
What hosting company are you with, so the rest of us can avoid them?

You need to perform a full cleanup of your site. It can be a backdoor created on your site a long time ago with a malicious plugin - your backups may not date back to before this was installed and therefore they will hack it again if this is the case.

We do cleanups for our clients on a regular basis. Send me a PM if you need help with it.
