Hey Guys,
I've now been a member of the forums for over a year and I can't say how much I appreciate this community for all of it's help. I simply wouldn't be where I am today without the knowledge I've gained on these forums. I'm originally a programmer but I hated where I was working at and went ahead decided to jump into SEO game. As of today I have 15+ SEO clients and growing.
All that being said I feel it's time give back...
Disclaimer:
Okay so first off I want to make very clear I'm not claiming to be an SEO god, guru, magic llama... etc. Nor am I trying to indirectly sell you something via this post. My intentions are simply to help others with a strategy that has worked for me in the past and still is working for me. I'm also open to constructive criticism as I'm constantly changing my strats and documenting. If there is only one thing that you can take away from this post, is that case studies are the ultimate window into what is and isn't working. Now coming onto the forums and asking "How do I get to #1 on Google?" is only going to irritate those of us who have put in countless hours developing what we do. I hope to be as specific as possible and if you feel I didn't explain myself clearly enough just ask me to clarify. So without further adieu...
My Results:
I've signed with this client on October 1st and have been working on his site ever since. For the sake of protecting my clients anonymity(he's in a really competitive niche, emerging market) I'll be blurring out the keywords being used.
Keywords

For the sake of continuity I've ordered the SERP tracker in the same order as the KW research tool.

Results
All of the keywords with the exception of Keyword #1 and Keyword #8 have started to rank just like Keyword #3 and are dancing 2-3 positions everyday.

My Strategy
1. Content
Probably the most important part of my entire strategy is the quality of my content. I either have my guys write it or I farm it out. When I do SEO I try to make sure that all my backlinks can actually be enjoyed by the user on that site. Even my second and third tiers I dedicate sometime to making it of actual value. Remember with Google doing this every other day:
I tend to avoid the whole duplicate content yes? or no? question and just make unique content across the board. It's worked for me since I started, and it's still working for me now. My 2 cents. You will need three articles for this strategy of mines. Feel free to add more because it's only going to help but I've found that for my purpose three is fine. We will refer to these Article A, B, and C.
2. Tier 1 (Article A)
Here I manually create and post to:
Take your time doing these. What I do here is I take Article A and spin it to around 90%. I'll generate 40+ versions of it and start posting it to the Web 2.0, and Article Directories manually. As far as creating accounts for both properties I do automate this process. There are tons of programs that do this so I won't get into that.
Also all those Web 2.0s I do as much on-site optimization as I would for the money site. Including title tags, meta description, keyword density, and keyword diversity. Remember not over optimize your keyword because you'll end up hurting yourself more then helping. A simple search on this here forum will give you more insight into that. I also include images related to the niche and optimize those as well.
3. Tier 2 (Article B & C)
What I do here is really simple, I'll make a video or farm it out, talking about the product, service, or company. I never make it more then 30 seconds. Again I reiterate... something really simple and to the point. I'll give you an example.
Like for a service based business I'll make a video that's a slideshow of the actual company, the office, employees. Yes I take my own pictures but you can ask for pics if your client isn't local. And I'll do a voice over that says something like:
"If you need the best dog groomer in town, Pete's Dog Groomers are the guys for you. Founded in 2001 they have been blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Contact them at blah, blah, blah"
I then upload to YouTube and other video sites. Including a backlink to the money site and some light keyword stuffing. Now this is where I really tie it all together. Those same videos I upload I'll turn around and in embed in every Web 2.0 I have created. It does wonders for user interest and as in the case of YouTube... Google is the ultimate narcissist because it really loves itself. This part of the process really makes the biggest difference in my personal case studies because I've done it with and without. I've seen results without but never as quickly.
5. Social Bookmarking
Grab all of your links Web 2.0, Article Directories, & Video and submit them to a Social Bookmarking service. Three to four SB links too each link is enough. Again you can automate this or farm it out. It really is up to you at this point. And keeping true to my disclaimer I won't put any links on here but you can easily find something cheap and reliable. Either look for it on BHW or Google, but preferably help our members out and buy from them. I'll sometimes add a second reTweet service here but I've found it to be not so necessary.
6. Indexing
Drop all of your links into the Indexer of your choice. Personally I drop them into two different indexers just to make sure and set it to 10-15 links to be dripped a day.
Continuing Your SEO
Now this is just a side note and you could do whatever you want but this is what's worked for me. I'll never create more accounts then the original 90 I made in the previous explanations. I do this for two reasons:
1. I can now just continue posting to these accounts, and even automate it.
2. It looks more legit in the eyes of users that come across your page
Never discredit the amount of traffic you actually generate by just creating interest in the users that read your post. Especially E-Commerce sites.
In Conclusion
So that is it guys, nothing overly complicated but very effective. I again want to thank the community that has helped me so much. And a word of advice to any noobs out there that are reading this... never give up! I started my company with $40 dollars in my account and dream. Find out what works and scale it. If you think that you're going to buy a magic program, press a button, and show up on the first page you're in for a rude awakening. You will lose money, time, and possibly your mind. So take it one step at a time. Read a bunch. And ask the right questions.
Good Luck & Happy Marketing!
