Hi. I can't recall where did I see the comment
"Google algorithm tends to attach importance to the first backlink acquired from a referring domain, and the late comers from the same domain will be of less impact."

Does it mean, for example,
if I had already improved my rank for the keyword "A" with backlink from referring domain "a",
and then should I aim to improve another Keyword "B" I'd better look for another referring domain? Rather than still working with domain "a" for more backlinks, though, it still has impact, to some extent.

And to view this question from a larger perspective, does it mean that we have to constantly moving forward with more and more referring domains (I mean, what if we want to keep the number of RDs under control)?

Chief, you probably read it wrong wherever you read it from.

Normally, the principle you are referring to exists but not on a domain level, it's page level.

It's just Google's method of assigning importance to links, the most important links are the ones that come first inside the body tag of the article.

That having been said, it's also important to note that more domains correlate with positive rankings, but it's quality, not quantity.

Hi Castamir... Yep, well... probably I read it wrong...

yeah, and remember links from side-bar, footer from the entire single domain no more count.
IDK about placing 1 link to 1000 posts on single external domain.
I always use 6 or 7 links per external domain. too much of it could trigger spam activity.
Also anchor text should be diversified. If you money site has post about : best cars from Honda, and your anchor text from all backlinks is same, it could trigger the spam alerts.
