I recently though of an idea to make money as a Mturk requester and I'd like some opinions to see if this idea could actually work. The idea is to sign up for a content mill (like textbroker) and pick a job to do. Then post the article requirements on Mturk and pay 50% of what you will make for posting the finished article. Of course the goal is to be a 4 star writer so you can earn more (meaning you can pay more and have more people write for you) but if that would work would it even be allowed?

Well you can set qualification tests to help get the people you need or use masters. Did you try that? The main thing I need to know is if this is even allowed on content mills and if workers will write something like a 350 word article for around $1.75 MAYBE $2.00

I think you have a pretty decent idea going. The only thing that might not work is the fact that the more you write, the more you earn. How long will i take for one article to be completed? How long will it take for a requester to even pick the order up. All articles on Textbroker come with deadlines, AND you can only grab one article at a time. If you were able to grab more than one, then this might work.

With that being said, you can find your own client who needs tons of orders done, and THEN use a micro site such as MTurk. Or you can put out an ad on a free classified site, and find people looking for a little extra income. There are tons of writers on Craigslist. The more control you have over the situation, the more money you can make. Textbroker is already skimming off the top, so you skimming off more just to pay someone on MTurk is some what a waste of time and energy. If you grab your own clients, then you could make so much more.

That sucks, I didn't realize you could only pick up one article at a time. I'll look more into what you said and find something that will work. Thanks for the reply

I can also tell you that posting a 350 word article for 2$ wont get much traffic and if you did the quality would most likely be sub par. A lot of the people who work on mturk do it as a living and they have thier own guidelines as to what is enough pay. They would rush through it just to get it done, or else avoid it all together for fear of rejection. You'd probably get some quality articles but it wouldnt be worth the time and money spent, imo. Doing surveys, you can get paid a 1$ for answering a mindless 10 minute survery. mturk has its own reddit. You could post there and see what people think. I think you're better off getting a few solid people to do your work, as mentioned above.

Yeah I did a test run with 2 articles and they weren't very good. I knew pay might be an issue but it seems with this idea there isn't any room to pay well. I still approved both HITs because i know how a rejection can effect a workers account (I go there as a worker all the time). Looks like content mills aren't the way for this.. Anyone have any ideas?
