This is my first post here on BHW so let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I created my first affiliate niche site a little over a year ago. Basically I got my hands on a product domain, created a site with some content and commented on a couple of blogs to get backlinks. With this solid plan I thought the money would come pouring in in no time. I had the domain, I had the backlinks, I had the content. I made 40 bucks during the christmas rush last year and not a cent before or after. This made me think it was impossible to make money on the internet.
Time passed and during summer this year my friend mentioned that he almost got fooled by a site offering highly desirable (but non existing...) content with a CPA content locker. This caught my interest and he showed me the site. It did not look legit but topped the SERP with 100% spam backlinks. This caught my attention and I investigated the competition for the keywords in my native language. Not a single site. Quickly I created a site which I have learnt afterwards to be utilizing a silo structure to cover all desirable keywords in this very special niche. To top the page in the SERP for my primary keyword I built only a couple of links from forums and articles. This took about three months from creating the site. When it topped for my primary keywords I had about 500 visitors per months. Not alot but there was potential for a lot more. When the visitors started coming I added my CPA links. When I made my first dollars I realized this could be my break in IM. I started adding more content and built a couple more links. Last month I had 1100 visitors and I have made a total of 50 USD.
The goal with this site is to top it for all keywords that I currently have content for. With my current conversion rate I think I could make at least 100 dollars/month avg so that will be my money goal with this site.
So how am I going to achieve this?
- More on page content
- Linkbuilding, I'm thinking a couple of Web 2.0s with tiered links + a couple of bought links - any thoughts on this?
- Improving the CTR with design tweaks
This is a very small project and alot of users in here might not even think it's a niche worth investing in with this level of income. However I am a student and every dollar is welcome plus I think it's a lot of fun seeing your site rise in the SERP and seeing the money stacking up. I will refer to this project as Project A in future posts.
In addition to improving Project A I have plans for creating a similar site within another niche with a lot more traffic. I will call this site Project B. In this niche there is also big opportunities to create natural backlinks with some hustle. I have made a plan for which keywords to go for and made a design mockup. I want to make this site look like a legit company offering the content. If I manage to rank this site and maybe even create some social media buzz I think this is where I make the big bucks.
This is my plan for Project B:
- Develop and design the site
- Create the content - will include writing a couple thousand words and Photoshop work
- Make a list with e-mails that I can use to try to create some buzz about the site
- Develop a custom content locker
I think my top strength as an internet marketer is my creativity - I enjoy writing and creating great looking websites - while my greatest weakness is that I quickly lose interest in my projects. Hopefully this thread will help me keep the steam up.
About the title: Both of these sites generate revenue by fooling people into completing the CPA offer. There is no real content behind it. There you have it. I am not proud of it but the results I get currently outweigh the morals. Maybe I will change some day. Maybe I won't.
I encourage you all to critize my strategies with these sites. I am still learning the IM and SEO game and the reason Project A was in my eyes successful was mainly a result of me wanting to create a site that looked legit. I later learned that the silo structure and diverse link building was separating my site from the real spam sites.
