monetizing a gambling blog

I have been following online marketing for years but finally worked up the courage to just jump in a few weeks ago! I've learned a lot from this forum. I have a quick question, I'm sure this has been covered before but Im trying to figure out the best way to monetize my gambling blog I'm at around 30 impressions a day for a few keywords. However without google adsense It is slightly harder to get visitors to click on ads. Im hoping some of you have been in this situation and have great advice. I'm thinking I could make a review of some of the products on my blog and link out to the page via article directories and web 2.0 sites.

It's good to hear that you've finally taken action, that's the first step, well done!

At 30 impressions per day though, I would be more focused on creating valuable content that really gives back to you readers. The goal is to build some loyal readers. Maybe sign up for Aweber or another email capture service to begin building your list.

Also work hard on the SEO for your content to obtain more hits.

My advice is to focus on the quality and quantity of your blog before monetizing as with such low impressions, you're not gona be making very much anyway while at the same time, annoying your visitors.

CPM definitely won't work for any real money. You could attempt to content lock if you're providing some service or download, but again, these have limited success these days.

Maybe others will disagree with me, but the quality of content and building a following is what's important in the early stages, the money will follow after.

Your traffic is way too low to focus on advertising, however, I can also see your point that you might want to have the ads in place as your site grows. With a niche like gambling I imagine you would get the best results by searching around and reaching out to specific gambling sites, online casinos, poker sites etc. The big players in online gambling make a ton of their money from affiliates so they're all going to have affiliate programs you can apply for. With gambling, I'd stick to the big name sites who have something to lose by ripping off affiliates and tarnishing their customers' trust in them.

Given that you've only just got into IM in terms of taking action I'm not sure if you should be tackling one of the most competitive niches online

For gambling niche - online casino affiliate banners of course.

Not really, it all depends on what the traffic is. I have a website which on average gets 30 visitors a day and about 10 depositors per month for a certain casino.

Thank you all for you input I appreciate it. as far as the niche goes I have done research on my keywords. The avg monthly impression for my long tail key word are just over 40,000 with low competition. I think that with the keywords I will be able to side step a lot of competition. I am currently working on my backlinks via MS and still trying to learn it lol. If you guys have any advice on anything regarding poker and casino marketing please please let me here your input
