Hi guys,

A client wants me to provide a mobile directory and populate it with over 1800 existing listings. They want to include upgrades to featured listings etc, does anyone have any ideas on how to go about this?

Make a mobile site that is has a dumb down version of your normal website. Make it so it fits on the screen of smart phones, and make it easy to navigate with a smart phone. Do not make the screens to wide or what ever, make sure all the user has to do is scroll down to read content.
 
Use wordpress.

1. Install wordpress
2. Visit wordpress plugin section, download a mobile and directory plugin
3. Install the plugins
4. Populate it with the existing listings.

Hey there,

I'm familiar with wordpress and thats about it. I tend to outsource the tech stuff as I'm too bust making the sales. What do you recommend?

Hey there, I have thought about going this route, I've looked at vantage and other WordPress directories that are responsive. Ideally I want the directory to be simple with you typical clear large buttons with each listing having it's own basic page with their details, a description and a map with directions.

Does anyone have any suggestions along the WordPress route?
 
Chiptroniks a best directory for the mobile/laptop repairing institute and services are laptop spare parts

This is one of the quickest ideas you can move on with... Go ahead with this & you can customize it as per your clients requirement too :)

Given there are so many plugins and themes for Wordpress, does anyone here have some good suggestions or ideas on which to go?

Just get a responsive mobile template that works for mobile and desktop.

Mobisite works well for converting wordpress to mobile friendly if theme is not responsive.
