Well this my first journey topic. I'll try to keep it updated daily.

I've been working on this site for a month now. Here are some facts about the niche and the Website.

  • Niche: Very developed competitive niche BUT HIGHLY PROFITABLE
  • Main Keyword: 350,000 Exact Searches
  • Domain Registration Date: September 2012
  • Current PR 0
  • 65 Unique Posts ( ~2 Posts are added daily)
  • 11 Guest Posts Published (~ 1 Post every 3 days and growing)
  • 20 Web 2.0 sites with unique handwritten articles
  • 2nd Tier links are being built daily
  • Google Page Speed Test 90/100
  • Yslow Grade B
  • 2-5 Unique Daily Visitors from google
  • 401 Indexed Pages

Google Webmaster Tools Stats

  • 397 Queries with ~350 daily impressions
  • Main keyword is showing an average position of 260 although I don't actually see it.
  • 25 Backlinks showing in GWT
  • Anchor Text Overview showing 117 different anchor text

The site is/will be monetized through Adsense, Amazon and Clickbank.

Spending

Domain Registration Fee ($10)
Shared Hosting ($35)
2-4 hours daily for posting content, building backlinks,...

Earnings:

Nothing So Far :)

I assume you're using wordpress. If not, then mind sharing what CMS are you using?

Also, be sure to optimize your theme/design for conversion as well as SEO... many people make the mistake of not optimizing for conversions and when they rank, they change their theme... book, rankings gone for good.

Yes I'm using wordpress. I'm using a plugin that will give me the flexibility of changing the ad position. For amazon I'm posting products reviews with 2 links to the amazon page.

Nice!
Make sure you have an optin form on your sidebar too... build your list as much as you can. That would help big time in the long run.
