I don't wanna waste anyone's time here with my life story but long story short I have been a Chef for 15 years now until I recently got hurt. I find myself stuck at home now with no real way or other skill to support my wife and kids. I have spent countless hours chasing that make money online from home dream but I really am having a hard time cutting threw the bullshit. In short I find myself with no real skills to apply online. I am not creative really, suck at writing etc but I have been reading my ass off on this site.
I am trying to heed the advice given such as what am I good at etc but I'm having a hard time finding anything really for me. I am desprite to learn a new skill like website building etc. I have thought myself a lot of other skills through YouTube but as far as finding something to make real money online youtube has a lot of bullshit to cut through. I want to learn a skill to make money off of that's my goal here. I would love to find something I could really get into and enjoy. Something I could throw myself into wholeheartedly.
As far as what I am good at online kinda nothing. I can surf porn countless hours lol. I game my ass off and build gaming computers for myself and friends so I understand hardware but coding I no nothing of.
I don't have time to wait to start YouTube channel and I want to be a bit more realistic in my search for my next line of work. I could really get into selling stuff but I have no money for investment. The whiteboard thing seems cool but I can't draw for shit lol. I would love to review hardware etc but money is tight so I can't go out buying shit ton of things to review. As you can tell I am all over the place and just need some direction. I just need something real and solid to put food on the table. Any and all Ideas welcome and until then Ill just keep reading my ass off till I find something. I'm not trying to get rich by any means. My main goal as of right now is to figure out how to make about 100 a day online.
I understand that will take time and shit tons of hard work but it's a goal. Any ideas to help a clueless skill less man start the road to that goal would be amazing. once again I am more than willing to learn and listen. Thanks in advance!!

Write about the things you're good at. Good chef? Must be a excellent niche for blogging.

It is, it's massive. Especially if OP has that sort of knowledge. I know a blogger that makes good money doing it. Personally I can't even boil an egg lol!

How about making yt videos on building a gaming pc. I know a ton of coding but basically zero about hardware (other than the very basics to help with assembly language on certain pcs). You can for sure monetize that.

Start a go fund me explaining your challenges and you'll probably also get decent funding if you market it well.

Sob stories (not being mean, just giving you ideas) on stuff like reddit and imgur get upvoted a lot and I've seen people make six figures to get their teeth fixed or all kinds of stuff. You can definitely work it.

Blogging and growing an Instagram account along side it in the food niche can really take off.

Good pics of what you are cooking, recipes that are not your standard fare, videos of how to make an interesting dish... there are really 7 or 8 thousand ways to create a decent site/IG account/YT account and bank from them.

Also, to add to what everyone said: diversify and don't expect it to start earning a livable wage in a month or even 3. Stick to it and it'll grow.

By the way if you just need some fast bucks, try mturk or something. It's pretty easy to earn $20+ per day there, but it gets monotonous.

I don't know how much money you need, but anytime someone wants to learn this business, I tell them to work as someone's VA (virtual assistant). Yes, you'll be an errand boy doing lots of boring tasks, but you'll learn the ropes as you grow with the tasks your employer needs. The obvious draw back is the pay isn't great because you're competing with people from all around the world. The experience is the real pay.

Another option, look in the "hire a freelancer" section, see what people are buying and learn that skill. You may not possess the skill now, but you can certainly learn it. Also, install a spell/grammar checker like Grammarly (I think they have a free version) which will help with your writing.

As @blogzandstuff pointed out you are a chef so use that as your advantage.

this won't make you rich but can provide a nice bit of income as well as a traffic source should you need it:
Take to IG and start growing your self as a public figure in the food niche.
-make how to videos (less than a minute long) of good looking dishes/drinks
-take good photos of food you make (at home) with a description of what it is and how you made it
-reshare photos of what others have made and give them credit (very effective and means that not all the content on your page has to be yours)
-use bots or other methods to grow your account (read the IG section of this forum)
-grow to 10k+ followers and contact food related companies to promote their shit
-start a food website (nice traffic source)

-dont waste money buying shoutouts for yourself unless you know what you are doing a simple bot to help you grow should suffice (its not really needed if you can spare the time)

If you make yourself a public figure that usually means you can sell shoutouts/promo's for a higher price than an account of equal followings/niche without a face attached to it.
+if you are able to still cook for people (as a private chef or in a kitchen) this is a nice little bump to add to your resume.

Turn yourself into the product so to say just like many insta models and pretty much every other person you see on the internet.

What the best way to go about starting a website?

Wow Amazing!! Funny how I never even thought about a food site and or blog. That's something I can start working on today. How does a website like that generate income? Ad revenue?
Thanks so much everyone. I am installing grammerly now.

I read about the virtual assistant thing. I'll check that out further so some quick money while I get started on the food thing. thanks!

I know its amazing! Like I said I just needed some direction and I got that lol.

Also, you're good at building video game computers!

I would suggest you take your natural skills such as video gaming & chef work to create niche sites. Then, find people to write the content for you or do it yourself. This will help you get a lot of traction on such websites. When things are going good, create a YouTube channel showcasing your food art & your video game expertise.

@trendkill84 I know you said you suck at writing. Unfortunately for most things IM related you need to be convincing enough in what you write. There is a free code for grammarly on here as that could help level the playing field for you. As for YouTube don't see it as the sole means of getting money just a platform. If you want sustainability from your skills Id recommend by a domain in your name, get an IG, Facebook, Twitter, and interlink them together. There's so much money on the Internet it is outrageous. This way you take on clients as you grow, better your writing chops and write a cook book as it'll cost you nothing, just learn that if you are good at what you do it is worth building your brand.

There are tons of "cheats" to get your numbers up to increase your value but its all on you. The question is are you looking at it like a sprint or a marathon...

If I were you I wouldn't start from scratch if I had 15 years knowledge in an area I enjoy that much.

Thank you very much. I will check it out. If I can really make 20 a day from it then that's an amazing start. Hell a few more ideas like that and I will hit my goal of a 100 a day in no time!

Like the other's said make a blog and monetize it with adsense and amazon affiliates and as building computers is a hobby build up and IG account around that niche and then start charging for shoutouts and offer to assemble someone's pc in your city for X amount

    Check out reddit.com/r/beermoney

Mturk + swagbucks can easily put one at $1,000 per month - there are plenty of people doing that. I'll confess that during my more poverty stricken moments, I used to bang out dollars there :D.

Become a "celebrity chef" on youtube / your own blog.

There's a tonne of "How to cook this cool thing in 5 minutes" type vlogs on youtube, my other half eats them up (literally)!

First rule of internet marketing is to use the skills and expertise you already have IRL and then find a way to sell that online.
