There's windows software to extract skype chat history from some hidden sql database file on your pc made by skype (the file, not the software)
Hit google you'll find it.... i don't recall the name.
I used it long time ago and it dug up quite a bit, but most of it was gone/unrecoverable.
Skype sucks and it's worse every year. You used to save chat logs as simple .txt files.

Well, if you were around when Skype was the most popular and you still have clients from those days or just generally clients in their thirties or up, it's not that surprising. Most people don't like change, which is especially true for older generations.

I figured out the skype history issue as well and have been able to restore it. Thanks a lot for your kind help. I highly appreciate it.
Now only thing that worries me is that the skype still shows that threatening message: "your version will no longer be supported, update to latest version"
Can you let me know the way to disallow skype making a forceful update? I don't want to be in trouble again.
If a client ask you to add on skype and its the only medium they use to communicate, what would you do? We are forced to use it although we hate to use it.

doubt there's anything u can do to make the nag screen go away
u can always google it to see if others solved the problem

i guess u fixed auto update by downgrading. ur good. skype cant force an update now unless you tell it to.

I tell them we don't use Skype. Then we talk over email.
Skype is a BHW BST thing. With real businesses, you'll find few care for Skype and rather have an email thread where they can bring in their relevant team members and departments needed in the buying cycle.

Can you add brackets with client names such as Client name (SEO)? It might be solve your problem. I used to put bracket on every important person.

Downgrade it as I did and problem solved. Don't let the suckers update at all. Fight with them and in the end, you will win.
For the time being, my problem is already solved. I hope for the best but prepared for the worst as well.

so today Skype hit again with a nuclear bomb. I was able to use "custom contact list" feature by using older version but today they have disabled that version altogether. Now, I lost my list again and can't organize them with custom list. Skype moron's keep hitting it hard.
Anyone still using the older version with custom list?
And anyone can add this feature with a bot or something? I really need it and cant do business without this feature.
