Instead of spending some amount of money for domain name and hosting,you can start a blog on blogspot(for example your domain[]blogspot) and perform almost everything(such as design,function) you can implement on a traditional micro niche site and,that's free.So is it necessary to register a domain name and then build a micro niche site on paid hosting?

doesn't make a difference depending on what you are wanting do to.
I run a blogspot site and a domain.com about the same thing. Blogspot ranks #1 for all my keywords while my domain ranks #2 or #3.
its all about your backlinking
The only difference is that with ur own server u have more benefits and tools, and do whatever u want, while u ar limited to certain thing thigs with blogspot.
but ranking and conversion, ill say about the same.
