Methods to increase adsense impressions

Hi,

Basically I want to increase the ad impressions on a Wordpress blog. Naturally I think the easiest way to achieve this is to make the user open new page(s) in order to read more content.

My questions:
1. Is it a smart idea to post each post HALF with a read-more button which leads to the full post on a new page? Or will the thin content in this case (on the short version) hurt me?

2. I've seen sites with posts like "10 best hotels blablabla" then each hotel is on a own page with buttons 'NEXT' ... is there a specific trick (plugin?) how to achieve this or is it simply making a lot of pages and interlinking them?

PS. All traffic is from social media, site is not competing in the search engines, so I am not worried about any 'rankings' getting hurt.

The easiest way is to use quizzes on your site or paginated articles (article broken into multiple pages).
In my experience, broken articles will loose more and more visitors with each page, as users will get tired of browsing and loose more and more engagement with each page.

1. Pagination is a legit tactic being used by a lot of publishers. whether is it a good or bad idea, it depends on your niche/audience/content - no way around it, you'll have to test it out and see if it harms you or not.
Some 10 best blablabla publisher chooses not to paginate and throw 4-5 ads on each segment - both tactics works. its up to you.
2. There are actually a few plugins like wp-paginate or "pagination" but simply search for "pagination plugins" and you'll find more than a few.

Another thing you can consider is either ad rotation or infinite scroll.

I also make sure the link to the next page has a clear call to action

Works like a charm

Expect your page views to at least double using this technique

Do not limit to half, split content in 10 pages , I have seen such blogs.

Have you thought about serving up posts you may like and then that way increasing the adsense rating of other pages as well?

See that a lot on such websites. And the related article in the middle of your post as well. So it's not really perceived as an ad its just more content that users might like to see, but of course each part of your website has ads so its like a win win for user perception and adsense.

Does it not harm your SEO?

I already so this. Using pagebreak to break 1 whole article into 3 sections. But itu only count 1 impresiion
