When starting out, I would stay away from anything with more than 50K - 100K competition.... BUT that is me, that is still very competitive and you will need link wheels, high pr do follow links, article links, directory links and xrummer links to take on that sort of competition (all of those can be bought in the
market place) .
Ideally you want to go after keywords that have less than 20K competition!
But then again if you find a keyword that gets 100K exact searches every month and the PR avg. , age avg. , link avg. is low, and the &start=990 show something like 15 page - 20 page then go after it, even if in "quotes" it says the competition like 1 million.....
SEO is hard to explain, its all about testing and finding out on your own what the best method is for you...!
Just take action and find out.... that is the best way to learn. You have more then enough info here to get you guys going.
