[Method] Make money using content locking faking a giveaway

Very old method and you would need to be very careful doing it.

Do a search for "free giveaway scams" and you will find twists.

That's only because most people are really stupid when they do this method and try to pretend it's an official giveaway or pretend they're Apple. If you attract that kind of attention to yourself, you're going to get taken down. That's just stupid.

The more BS you try to invent, the more tracks you'll have to cover. Keep it simple. "Our sponsors pay us to have you do their surveys, we use that money to buy your prize". Dont do stuff like "WOW!!! WE HAVE A MILLION IPADS IN STOCK THAT WE CANT SELL BECAUSE THEY WERE OPENED BY ACCIDENT. WHOOPS! LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE TO GIVE THEM AWAY!"

I researched this method too, and I see LOTS of people doing spammy, dumb stuff including making Facebook Pages like "Official Apple Giveaway" or something like this.

If you keep the giveaway fun, have a privacy policy, and have a rules section detailing laws, rights all that good stuff (like a said, easily copy pasted) you'll extend the life of your website and this method. Don't be dumb about it.

Use proper, good English. Make sure your grammar is top notch and make a beautiful website. It will convert well and people will trust you. It won't raise suspicion.

Like any method here, it can get borderline if you abuse it.

It's certainly possible, but if you wanted to give away something, I'd start with something cheaper like iTunes giftcards or Android tablets. $800 of affiliate money just to buy someone a prize seems like a waste. I know I sound like an asshole but it's the truth. Unless you were raking in 10s of thousands a month, then obviously it's worth it since it's a small fraction.

And if you're saying waiting until you have more than enough to giveaway a prize instead of doing it monthly, that's more of a lottery and I'm not sure about the laws with that. I could be wrong though.

I personally believe this method would max out at about $1000 a month with my current numbers. So every month you buy a 800 dollar prize and you're left with what, 200 bucks? Seems like a waste.

Ok, true. I thought of adding different tabs for different giveaways on the site to make people doing multiple surveys. Having only 1 "win" per month seems not worth it if you really buy the stuff and send it to the winner, so I guess I'll just skip that for now.

Do you know anything about the legal part of this? Since people don't pay you (like in the real lottery), they couldn't establish a fraud claim, could they?

Well I don't see how they can ever proof that you did not give a price to a winner and secondly if they could and they are from the US, you are screwed!LOL

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. You're not taking money from people so there's no reason you would ever have to prove your giveaway to any body. It's a giveaway, a lot of marketing firms for major corporations do giveaways, do you ever know if they ever actually give away a prize? It's very different when you do a contest or sweepstakes or lottery. Then you're putting yourself at risk of running into some trouble.

Great method. I was researching on how to use giveaways and sweepstakes to make money. I am trying it out right now and bought the KingSumo Giveaway plugin for wordpress. It is for a shirt I am actually going to give away.

I like the idea of using a content locker and the social locker though. How much do you get paid on average if someone unlocks the giveaway forms?

Also I was thinking if there is another way of using giveaways to generate commissions thru affiliate marketing. I have seen some great case studies on viralsweep, but that was all executed by real brands.

Now this is what i can a great twist to content locking :)

I think that this is outdated but thank you for share this :)
