Hey guys,
I'm going to share a simple but pretty effective method to make some money using a content locker. You can add your own twists if you like, here's how I do it.

WHAT IT IS

You're going to create a website and pretend to giveaway something very popular and desired every month. For example, you can do ps4 giveaways or iphone 5 giveaways. I wouldn't recommend offering cash or anything like that. There was an interesting thread here that noted the average user is much more intrigued in getting STUFF than CASH. An average internet user would rather win a $200 tablet than $500 cash. I know, it's counter-intuitive but just trust me.

WEBSITE

Register a domain, something like iphone5giveaway.com or thegreatps4giveaway.com

For the website, I'd highly recommend keeping it simple, even just a one page site with all the content (more on that later) on the same page. I'd recommend using WordPress and finding a nice one page template, either buying it at a site like ThemeForest or somewhere else.

So, basically how the site will be designed is like this. You'll either break up your main page into the following sections or pages: How It Works, Rules, Prize, Past Winners, and most importantly Enter Giveaway.

The most important part of this whole guide if you get too bored reading and want the meat of how you make money: The Enter Giveaway page is what you will be content locking. You can use any network, it doesn't matter. I used AdWorkMedia. The trick here is for the person on your website to enter the giveaway, they must first complete an offer or survey. After they do that, it counts as an "entry" and the contact form on your website is accessible. Keep the Enter Giveaway form simple, just Name and Email works fine. Also, have the contact form visible in the background when the person sees your content locker. It will entice them to complete an offer to enter.

How It Works will basically describe your giveaway and what the process is for a person to enter. Here you can either be honest or lie. You can be honest and say you're able to afford the giveaways because sponsors pay you to have people complete offers, or just not let anyone know and have it all be a surprise when they try to enter the giveaway.

Rules, just copy and paste contest rules from any other similar giveaway site to look credible and legit. Having a privacy policy page could help too.

Lastly, you'll have a Past Winners page. Here's where you can get creative, you can either use Google Images and search something like "iphone winner" and just put these pictures on your site OR if you want to look super legit, you can pay people on Fiverr to hold what you're giving away with your site in the background. You could pay someone to hold an iphone displaying your giveaway site, be creative.

REMEMBER: The more legit and beautiful your landing/home page is, the higher the chance you will convert. People won't complete offers if your site looks sketchy or like crap.

Okay so that's basically it. Finding traffic that will convert shouldnt be too hard, use your imagination. Create as many social pages like Twitter and Facebook, submit to Stumble Upon, reply to comments on YouTube, whatever. Post pictures of winners on Instagram or Pinterest, especially if you paid people on Fiverr.

I'm sure you'll all have your own twists but I thought I'd throw out this idea out there for those of you who didn't know how to use a content locker or what to use it for.

Good luck guys, I hope this was good enough. This is my first method submission, I was just trying to give back. You've all helped me so much and I'm living the dream. 9-5s are for suckers.

hey op how much did you make using this method

Not much, only $100. I started this about 3-4 weeks ago, tweaking it everyday until I finally have something that converts really well. The first week I made $1 a day here and there. My biggest day was $20 (about 3 days ago). Me thinks there's a realistic potential to have about up to $50 a day with the right amount of traffic and proper website setup.

But who knows, with the right creativity and scaling of this method it could be much more in the right hands.

This is definitely a method that I have tried before (except only using a FB page) but I do like the refresher. I think the difficult part here is finding converting traffic. You didn't really mention anything about driving traffic to the page which is, in my opinion, the most important part. I would love to hear what methods you have been using if you don't mind.

For big money: after content lock is complete, use a social media lock and have the page go viral :). If they have already filled out a survey they already have time invested in the process and will likely like/share/tweet the page as well.

I got started making my first money online in 2008 doing this by locking amateur porn and driving traffic from yt booty shaking videos... this was years ago and the method got killed when ***** had porn day and uploaded porn videos under titles like Barney and Mickey Mouse. Yt started killing my videos as fast as I uploaded them and the traffic stopped... also CPA networks were easier to game back then so you gotta really find a good way to twist this without getting banned from your traffic source and your payment source (network)

I tried it some months ago with link locker and I know it works great.

Amazing , looks like you took some time typing this , thanks it will help me in my ppd ( cotent locking ) journey

What content locker do you use for this method?

Yeah! This method works. You can really see good conversions. But, before letting them to fill survey, lock it with Social Media plugin. You can drive extra traffic from it.

The only bad thing is everybody is onto surveys now because everybody and there brother is doing it.

Hi OP, what site/network can one use so it displays the contact form in the background lightly? Can you give some detail on that and how its done. I normally just work with social lockers.

Thanks

can you recommend a particular social media locker? thanks

What's copyrighted about this method? Using a picture of an iPhone on your website? Typing the word PS4?
I think you're thinking like content locking copyrighted materials, like if I were to content lock a full movie or something.
This method content locks a contact form...

I was actually thinking of making exactly this, but on a real basis (with real prizes involved). Is conversion high enough on such sites to buy the products of the money aquired by the surveys? I was thinkin like:

Givaway of 1x PS4 -> Waiting until 800$ are made -> Buying PS4 for the winner -> keeping the rest of the money

Would that be possible?

It's certainly possible, but if you wanted to give away something, I'd start with something cheaper like iTunes giftcards or Android tablets. $800 of affiliate money just to buy someone a prize seems like a waste. I know I sound like an asshole but it's the truth. Unless you were raking in 10s of thousands a month, then obviously it's worth it since it's a small fraction.

And if you're saying waiting until you have more than enough to giveaway a prize instead of doing it monthly, that's more of a lottery and I'm not sure about the laws with that. I could be wrong though.

I personally believe this method would max out at about $1000 a month with my current numbers. So every month you buy a 800 dollar prize and you're left with what, 200 bucks? Seems like a waste.

Ps my conversion rate right now is about 13% and I make roughly $25 US a day. So do the math for yourself. But keep in mind, I'm pretty new to IM so I don't know if my site is truly optimized for traffic and conversions. Although I have a lot of web design and graphic design experience so my site looks hella legit and clean. I also think my domain is fun and king of keeps up with geeky trends right now.
