Very old method and you would need to be very careful doing it.
Do a search for "free giveaway scams" and you will find twists.
That's only because most people are really stupid when they do this method and try to pretend it's an official giveaway or pretend they're Apple. If you attract that kind of attention to yourself, you're going to get taken down. That's just stupid.
The more BS you try to invent, the more tracks you'll have to cover. Keep it simple. "Our sponsors pay us to have you do their surveys, we use that money to buy your prize". Dont do stuff like "WOW!!! WE HAVE A MILLION IPADS IN STOCK THAT WE CANT SELL BECAUSE THEY WERE OPENED BY ACCIDENT. WHOOPS! LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE TO GIVE THEM AWAY!"
I researched this method too, and I see LOTS of people doing spammy, dumb stuff including making Facebook Pages like "Official Apple Giveaway" or something like this.
If you keep the giveaway fun, have a privacy policy, and have a rules section detailing laws, rights all that good stuff (like a said, easily copy pasted) you'll extend the life of your website and this method. Don't be dumb about it.
Use proper, good English. Make sure your grammar is top notch and make a beautiful website. It will convert well and people will trust you. It won't raise suspicion.
Like any method here, it can get borderline if you abuse it.
