Yeah, some trackers really mess up the search volumes. I'm using SerpFox and that is OK but still...

Ahref's search volume is not the same as that of google.
Why?
this was explained in one of the videos of the blogging course they had offered few months back for free.
Ahref's search volume is a combination of data from google and another service i forgot the name it was something click******.

Oh yes, Ahrefs stats are pretty close but it's still just an estimate. Only Google knows actual volume and this tool allows us to take a peak quite accurately

Great Share. however its proved to me now that I will not be using google keyword planner from now on.
Why?
1,In google console i see clicks for specfic keywords, so I know that they have some volume on them, but in google keyword planner, it shows 0 clicks.
2, Also I checked another keyword which is quite a commonsense keyword which comes up on the auto suggest function on google browser search. Keyword planner says 49 clicks, with 818 impressions. I'm fairly certain that this word gets a lot more, so I checked it out on Ahrefs, they say 130000 volume global, and breaking this down top 2 countries give India at 55000 volume with 10000 clicks, and Usa with 25000 volume with 6600 clicks. Keywood planner is set to show all locations. CPC is set to 77.00
What the hell is going on with google keyword planner? Is this deliberate giving wrong volumes and clicks etc, or is Ahrefs completely wrong.
I will use my judgement, and say that google keyword planner is wrong.

Awesome guide, I was previously using semrush.
For anyone getting data that is way off from other databases, make sure you set the country correctly. Mine defaulted to Canada and it had me scratching my head for a bit.

When i checked 'flat belly fix' (CB product), your method, ubersuggest and keywordseverywhere, all have different result.

Ahrefs use clickstream data.
Obviously Google knows more about Google, but they're also working actively against us knowing anything useful. Ahrefs is a pretty good estimate in my experience.

Nothing can beat actually being in the field getting data, can it?
Country and match type are really important. Also, is it max CPC allowed?
You will get the most accurate results when you analyze only one keyword at a time.

KeywordsEveryWhere and UberSuggest are most likely pulling data from Planner. Which is a rounded average of the past year.
This method give estimate of the future month (by default).
#1 spot in Google gets roughly 35% clicks of all the searches.
So...
impressions * 35% = traffic you would get if you ranked #1
You can insert multiple keywords into the tool but results will be distorted.
For the most accurate results I suggest to only analyze 1 keyword at a time. And remove it before adding another.

Entered a couple of terms I've found which seem low competition to try.
In the planner they show as zero for clicks and impressions, but there is a Vol column which shows a number matching the keywords everywhere search volumes. Anyone know what's going on here and what Vol represents?

You're probably referring to estimated search volume (not impressions). It is a rounded figure. It matches Keywords Everywhere numbers because they are most likely pulling it form there

Well, impressions give you a pretty good idea of how many people search for a keyword.
Now, we know that #1 position in Google gets around 35% of these people (aka 35% CTR).
So the equation would be:
impression * 35% = potential traffic to your site
Example:
Keyword has 12500 impressions a month:
12500 * 35% = 4375 visitors to your site if you rank #1
You can Google the CTR of the remaining positions.

Yes, that is correct.
But it's unreal. You would need 100% CTR. #1 get's around 35% of that.
