This post is about how I made money using Facebook 3 different times so far to make over $3,500 Profit.

I made $875 PROFIT! in my 1st week selling wholesale items on Facebook Groups. I got this idea when my friend added me to their facebook yardsale group which was a group she set up specifically so people could sell their own stuff and also find cool things to buy. Since I'm an internet marketer by nature I decided to help my friend out by taking her group from a few hundred members to over 8,000 making hers the top group in the whole area. While I did this I noticed people posting and selling some pretty cool things so a light bulb turned on in my head and I decided to do a test and see if I could sell my own wholesale items and make some quick profit.

    [METHOD]
    1. Join a bunch of yardsale/garage sale Facebook Groups in your surrounding area. Do this by searching FB with keywords like yardsale and garage sale and then just click join. Once they approve you, look through the posts to see what type of stuff seems to be selling the easiest and stay away from the items that seem to never sell. Add each of those groups to your favorites list so it show up on the left hand side of your facebook page. This will let you easily go through each of the groups one by one.

    2. Choose your items that sell best and that you can easily get at wholesale or at least cheap enough to make a decent profit. My test category was bedding because it's something I already wholsale and it was something that I noticed sold well on the Facebook Groups in my area during my research. Bedding also worked for me because most of the group members were women. But lets say the groups in your area are mostly guys and/or your research showed that gaming stuff sold well. So what I would do is find the most popular accessories that might sell since it's not easy to get games or consoles at wholesale. Things like controllers, gaming headsets and maybe even harddrives. One place you can find all of these is the alibaba and aliexpress websites. I don't get my wholesale items from these sites as I only usually deal in the United States and all of my merchandise is original and authentic. If you do take my example of the gaming accessories I would advise that you only deal in 3rd party brands without the official logos so you guard youself from any possible problems. If you are interested in the bedding category and your research shows it to be a good seller just ask me.

    3. Check Your Potential Sales: Now remember you are almost always going to be meeting someone offline in order to complete the sale so you need to first purchase the items. If you want to make sure that a certain item will sell before purchasing them yourself you can just post your add in each facebook group and then see how many responses you get because you are not obligated to actually sell anything so after your testing you can just respond back to everyone that the item already sold. Now you will have done your own market research.

    4. Posting Your Item: Now that you have chosen which item to sell you will need to take a nice picture of the item and be able to upload it to your laptop and then onto each fb group. If you don't have a way to do this just find a good photo online and upload that one. Now keep your add very basic with only necessary information like, product name, condition, price and location. You might also need other information if the group admin requires it. Make sure you list the price above what you really want for it so there is room to negotiate with the customer. This also makes them feel like they got a good deal after bringing the price down.

    5. Bumping Your Item: Make sure you read each of the groups posting rules to avoid any future problems. I moved all of the groups that had special rules or more rules than normal down to the bottom of my favorites list on the left hand side of my fb page so I didn't forget and accidentally break the groups Posting Rules. Most groups allow you to bump your post once every day but ofcourse your post will move to the top of the wall everytime someone posts a question about the item. I advise you not to respond right away but to wait until your post starts to move way down the wall which should take about 20 to 40 minutes depending on how active that group is and then answer back so your post shoots back up to the top. There is also another more greyhat way to bump your post to the top without answering any questions. Just comment on your post and then immediately delete the comment. Your comment will be gone but your post will still be at the top of the Facebook Group Wall. Of course like anything we do that is grey or blackhat, don't go crazy with it and we won't have any problems. I personally did this with about 25 different yardsale/garage sale groups and I was able to sell all of my test inventory in the first week or 2. I also use a software program that does the bumping for me by commenting/deleting, but you can do this manually very easily. I only started using that software because I'm already using it for other things that I do on Facebook.

    6. Meet In Public Areas: Since this is offline selling remember to just be safe and meet in public areas.

    7. Don't Forget About Craigs: Everything will sell even quicker if you also post on CL

If you have any questions please post them below or send me a PM thanks.

Very good approach to selling and free marketing that costs nothing but the cost of the product... I would say cheaper products with a better margin would be a better start to this method since new sellers could purchase more of the item or minimum quantity from the wholesaler and then build their capital quicker then once they build their capital start selling higher priced items with less margin of profit but a bigger profit so instead of 100 items making $2 a piece on only have to sell 2 items that the mark up would be $150 each.

How many items did you have to sell in the first week to make your $875 and how much did you have to spend to make this? It sounds like a great method but you could have $800 invested only to make $875 unless you meant total profit was $875 after you got your money back for what you purchased.

Last of all I think you could relate this to any Facebook page with a targeted niche... for example find a wholesaler for e-cigs which when you buy more you get a better price which then you would go onto e-cig / vape pages and post the products for sale even if they are $1-2 lower than retail and you can still make a couple buck profit. So as long as it is niche specific then you could make a killing on many niches.

Haha love this method, did this back in high school and made a good $5k
I have a few alternatives to this method that worked well:

I bought hello kitty earrings from eBay, $8 for 50 pairs. Sold each pair for $10 a piece.

I also botted accounts on Facebook and had people sign up for this clothing site (plndr)
I got a load of gift card credits and bought a lot of brand name clothes (members only jackets, 10deep, etc) then resold them in school over Facebook and Craigslist

a good all round method. I usually hate meeting people offline because then they try to re-neg for a lower price. But ya, when i unload my older products, i use CL and it works well, never thought about FB.

Hey Sasha, the amounts listed are my profit. So my first week I made $1,255 total minus $380 that I spent on bedding so my profit was $875. This of course completely depends on the products you choose, where you get them and how much you sell them for.

Hey man nice method...I like the fb twist because those group pages are getting more popular lately...at least in my area.

I used to do this by just finding cheap products already on craigslist then haggling the price down way more then reposting it on CL for more...I could make about $100 a pop but it took awhile to find a good product listed cheap enough for it to be worth while.

I might look into this but my problem is finding high quality wholesale sites with legit products (not knock off China made)...any tips for that?

Well, the method looks good, but it is definitely not for everyone.
At first, you will have to live in a big city, otherwise offline selling won't make you a dime. So this is not the case for me, already first stop. I see from local ads or also local facebook selling sites that there are hardly any replies, most of the time the sellers themselves are the only ones commenting on their own posts in order to bump it up.

Also finding a good product that sells well AND finding a wholesale source which has good conditions (not only price, also moq, shipping fee, shipping method etc.) will eventually take ages.

I don't think this method would work here in India.

I remember there is another clothing store (don't remember the name) where you get about 25$ credit for 5 people free sign ups. So you basically sent people your reff link and got gift credits?

Yeah it worked great 3 times already. I don't really like having to meet people either but I quickly got over that when I saw the cash. And no one has ever tried to renegotiate the price, I think because it's been mostly women customers.
