Mental Health Issues

Check your situation with a psychiatrist, it's the correct thing to do

Is really difficult, since my way to deal with something might not work, and look for profesional is not bad, believe until I serach for profesional help I understand that I could do better and recover a long time ago but I was too afraid, is ok you want to handle everything but sometimes you need to rest a little bit and let other people help you with what you are fithing.

It really depends on your life, etc...We can't suggest gym and eat better if you were abused or suffered with heavy traumas
But if it's not the case, then you have potential to overcome this situation and find happiness

Keep working away at things, try to look at everything you do and decide if it’s having a positive impact or a negative impact. You have to try and focus on whatever there is that’s positive and then get rid of everything else.

Aside from that it’s just consistent work that’s needed and if you are focusing on good things and cutting out bad things then over time things should get better for you.

Also don’t focus on the ideals because then you’ll probably get disheartened, instead focus on just the smallest improvements - just try to better your position in any way that you can, regardless of how small those improvements might be. Over time that will add up to bigger steps in the right direction.

None of that works. You need to understand how to be in control and be in control, then everything turns 180 degrees around.

You need to make the best you can do and do something big instead of these "get retired early" stuff. This is of no value!

Work is the foundation of our civilization and you got to work better than 99.99% of people.

You need strong values and mental help from a real therapist but educated one with a degree. You need to not subscribe to pseudoscience and read high quality journals, and only real literature.

Don't listen to people without any education for reliable advice and people who write stories using AI for the living. These are mostly people who struggle and do anything to survive.

You need to be the man and not a fairy!

Achieve something and it'll boost your hormones 300%. Your mental health gets better when you make some real progress.

Little update on my situation.

After countless interviews and false promises I have finally managed to secure a stable job!

I hope that this thread serves as a reminder to everyone who comes across it that tough times don't last forever no matter how bad they feel at the time...

I'd like to thank each and every one of you who has contributed to this thread.

On to bigger and better things and time to start saving money aside for some big projects I have in mind for the near future.

if you feel not good go do fitness or sport you like and do ice bath, it will make you release the feel-good hormone (i dont remember the name)

Well, a job is fine... first months, depending on situation, person's psychology and other factors.

Our reality is built by our brains and so what we think is what we feel, then what we express.

So mental health is top 1 thing to work on, improve. Once I started doing that, I feel like a 10 year old person. Zero perceptions of being this or that... just pure experience of life.

Solving 1 personal problem is better than solving 1000 problems for a boss.

Gym workouts helped me a lot, especially when I didn't have work. I met some good people I talked to every day when I came to the gym. We’d chat, train, and then I'd walk home. It made me feel good, and getting some fresh air was beneficial too. Go out every day, take some walks, and listen to a good podcast.

Good luck.

I couldn't agree more I've always been the one who never wanted to settle for a 9-5.... however for the time being the stable *guaranteed* income is very well needed.

I'm definitely going to be doing side projects none the less as that's always been my passion.

I have also started gym and taking my physical health a bit more serious so that's a positive also :)

How do you guys deal with negative self thoughts?

Not gonna lie, been going through a rough patch the last few months and been trying to deal with it but its getting to a breaking point...

Financially not doing too well, my job search is taking its sweet time. I've gotten interviews but no positions yet and waiting for one more response from my latest interview.

Projects and responsibilities are still there with barely any financial means to cover those expenses. Big expenses coming up in the next few months too...

NGL kinda feeling locked in my head about the whole thing and not rly seeing a bright way out.

Just figured id share a piece of my mind on here and vent a lil.

Thanks for your time.
Hope youre doing okay bro.. honestly for you to post about this it already says a lot. i think that everyday and every second of the day you have a choice. weather you come from poverty or some other fucked up situation. or even if youre life has always been good. everyday you have a choice to pick the things to do that seem right to you. i think for you to come to this point you already missed so many red flags bro. be honest to yourself, thats what helped me when i was in this position. get your body moving if you can and if you cant try to do some form of exercise, no need for fancy gyms just any form of exercise is nice. keep yourself busy, link up with your family and friends, or people on the forum. dont stop applying for a job, money isnt everything but it sure is handy and can save you a lot of stress. just dont stop bro your next job interview can be tomorrow. it dont matter who you were yesterday because today you can be better!! i know you can smash everytihng thats coming on your path brother believe in yourself and do the work that is necessary to improve yourself and your state of mind.

Push negative thoughts consciously away. It always starts with mindfulness, once you're aware
of having these thoughts you can also adjust your reaction to them. Plus you can analyze when
they occur and consciously avoid the circumstance.

And the biggest lifehack is always practicing gratitude. Count your blessings every day, especially
in bad situations, and be thankful that you get to experience this realm and your very unique personal
journey with all its ups and downs.

And of course most importantly keep on hustling every minute you can to get money and never give up.

This is something that helped me a lot: You are totally different from your thoughts. They are there because they are there, but you have to live your life (avoid the what ifs). They appear, they disappear. Most of the time they're out of fears you don't even know about. Ignore them. Move on and be strong. You don't have to trust me, but I want just to try that.

Cheers!

We in fact are not separate from our environment. Remember that and you'll get some crazy revelations coming to you. hehe

Realizing what existence and being is can give huge mental stamina boost.

best thing you can do distract yourself, stay busy go do things, watch movies...that's a great way to take you away from the present

Hi, there,
My experience is worth what it's worth, but here goes.
I'm a bit (a lot) depressive by nature and I've been through a pretty dark period in my life (several in fact).
It was during the last one that I signed up here - no, the two aren't related.
I've started to get back on track.
Among the things that helped me keep my head above water :
making a daily schedule of things to do. Inactivity is the worst enemy of anyone with dark thoughts.
So I keep busy: I clean (I'm very fussy and there's always something to clean in a flat).
I read.
I play online (I like Geoguessr and RummyKub).
When I've got time on my hands, I feed my blogs.
I do my accounts and tidy up my papers.
I do sport (there are lots of free exercises to be found).
I've made a database of all my films and TV series and the same goes for books.
I sort my clothes and shoes.
That's what works for me.
But I'm aware that when you're in a depression phase, you have no energy and everything seems insurmountable.
So I did little things.
And some evenings, when I'm having dark thoughts, I say to myself "OK, this day sucked. Tomorrow will be better. And after everything you've been through, you can handle anything".
I read after writing this that you'd found a new job: well done :)

You need more serotonin, less dopamine and the depression goes away. Plan something long term like 30 - 60 years long plan.

I always remember this
