How do you guys deal with negative self thoughts?

Not gonna lie, been going through a rough patch the last few months and been trying to deal with it but its getting to a breaking point...

Financially not doing too well, my job search is taking its sweet time. I've gotten interviews but no positions yet and waiting for one more response from my latest interview.

Projects and responsibilities are still there with barely any financial means to cover those expenses. Big expenses coming up in the next few months too...

NGL kinda feeling locked in my head about the whole thing and not rly seeing a bright way out.

Just figured id share a piece of my mind on here and vent a lil.

Thanks for your time.

Sometimes it's just a phase. It will get better with time and things will fall into place. Gotta stay strong until then. Try meditation and be in touch with close friends. Talking to someone you trust helps a lot.

I deal with negative thoughts by making myself busy, I also try to find new hobbies/passion that will distract me from those negative thoughts.
Have you tried working as a freelancer btw?

Look into Mindfulness meditation. The idea is to accept these negative thoughts as what they are and not let them overpower you. The universe is in constant motion so this rough patch is going to pass as well. Just hang in there man.

It's is a easy understand of some common mental health issue
Here is given below
1. Anxiety
2. Depression
3. Disorder
These are comman mental health issue,
I considered plz be safe mental health issue

One thing I have found is that it is very difficult to tell yourself/your mind to stop thinking about something/feeling a certain way. However, what you can do instead is to actively pursue something unrelated.

What I typically do when I’m feeling down is to shift my mind to either my dreams or those who depend on me. Then it’s easier for me start doing something to push me forward even if I don’t feel like it and that usually brings some momentum.

At the end I know I need to do the work to move forward in life. Nobody will come and save me. Therefore, regardless of if I feel great or terrible, I need to do what is necessary and I try to find ways to do that regardless of my feelings.

Easier said than done tho.

Do you believe in God?

If yes, just PRAY about it and MOST IMPORTANTLY, don't relent in your job search effort

Thanks for everyone who's chimed in to the thread its greatly appreciated.

I will keep my head up high and keep moving forward. Tough times Don't last and we all face battles along the way in our journey.

As stated by everyone, speak and reach out if need be.

This forum is a place I've been on since 2018 and I honestly cant thank this community enough for all it has taught me and the people involved.

Greatly appreciated and a big thank you to all who replied and will reply further

Let it keeps spiraling all the way til it hits "oh that's sounds so stupid" and continue on with my day.

It's tough, keep at it.
wishing you the best

We are all here to support you; just realize if you need help, there is nothing wrong with asking. Keep your head up and know you have a lot of people pulling for you.

If you feel shit you probably eat shit, you probably sleep like shit
And you probably drink shit, and you understand what I mean.

So I suggest is that you start breaking down the problem to small Micro Problems and start addressing those problems one by one, instead of talking about one huge problem

If you think you need help, then there should be no shame in seeking help. I had anger issues that were psychotic in nature so the psychiatrist prescribed me antipsychotics. Though the dosage is nominal, it has helped me a lot. Again, this is just an example. You might have different set of issues so please consult a professional.

I’m having a lot of thoughts right now.. I mean I have a stable job but I’m too worrisome of what will happen in the future. I’m running to many what ifs.. does anyone here experiences the same?

I bet most replies will suggest things like yoga, mindfulness, or taking medication. While these can offer short-term relief, I'm no expert, but I believe a shift in perception is crucial for lasting change.

From my experience (and I'm not advising you to follow my steps, as you're an adult), here are a few things that helped me:

  1. LSD: Even one tab can alter your perception, revealing that many problems are primarily in your head (except for job-related issues, which you'll need to address practically).
  2. Mushrooms: Microdosing has worked better for me than any antidepressant.
  3. Ayahuasca: This is a more radical approach requiring serious preparation and integration. It's not for everyone, but it can profoundly impact your perspective and overall well-being.
I'm not advising you to use any drugs, but these non-addictive substances have helped me more than conventional pharmaceuticals. They aren't magical fixes and require considerable effort post-use, especially with ayahuasca. However, in my opinion, they offer a more profound solution than some traditional approaches.

And if you're under like 25, please avoid using any of these substances as your brain is still developing.

Seek proper treatment from professionals, stop giving attention to clowns from internet without any preparation to help you.

You are dealing with your health, that's not like a quick make money method that any Joe Doe can create...health treatment requires years of study, seek doctors.

First, understand that you are not ALONE! It has happened to every single person around you n everywhere, Just some people do not share whereas some do! It's really good to share this with a close friend who can understand and give you mental peace!
First, this is just a phase that will either break you or make you stronger for more Opportunities and a better future! You can motivate yourself and change negative thoughts by going for a Run in the morning (Park/Gym) and Lifts weight that will keep you Positive and productive to work on your projects! Whatever skill you are good at, just keep on looking everywhere that can get you an Opportunity! If you just accept that things won't turn good for you, it won't, but if you keep hustling with a positive mindset, it will surely work for you, bro!
Also, this is your test.. so do not turn yourself to temporary pleasures as they will not help you!
Good Luck!

Well in my case i use gratitude but many people dont understand how gratitude works
They think you need some great things to be grateful but its not how it works .
When you feel gratitude you feel joy for everything you see : the ground ,trees ,buildings around you ,everything

Ah yes, the "science" of mental health treatment. You mean the same science that spent over 50 years pushing SSRIs as the ultimate solution for depression, raking in billions in profits from millions of pills, only to recently come out with new "research" suggesting that maybe, just maybe, SSRIs aren't the silver bullet they were made out to be? Or perhaps you're referring to the science that thinks giving hyperactive kids Ritalin is the best solution—because, you know, it's so unnatural for kids to have energy, right?
Let's not forget the brilliant theory of brain chemical imbalances, which conveniently requires us to take drugs that might actually cause the very imbalance they're supposed to fix. Is it better to have a naturally "unbalanced" brain or one that's been chemically altered by drugs that even the so-called experts don't fully understand? Most of the time, they don't know shit, and they wouldn't give those meds to their own children.
But hey, I'm just here sharing my two cents. I think it's crucial for the OP to consider all perspectives and experiences. After all, everyone's journey is different, and most likely , the professionals don't have all (if any) answer either. Anyway, let's avoid getting into the politics of insurance and the healthcare system as that might go against the forum rules. I'll leave it to the OP to decide what advice resonates best with them.

"stop giving attention to clowns from internet without any preparation to help you."

Ah, yes, because clearly the internet is devoid of any useful information or personal experiences worth considering. It's not like countless people have found support, shared valuable insights, or even discovered life-changing solutions through online communities. But hey, let's make sure we only pay attention to the professionals who most of the time can't even agree among themselves. Thanks for the solid advice!
Who am I after all (or anyone who replied here that had the same feelings/problems)? Just a clown who doesn't know what the OP is feeling.
