This guy is definitely an unscrupulous businessman. Beware. He has no place on here. He should be named and shamed.

Just FYI - You cannot refund if there is an open dispute that is escalated to a claim. OP did you escalate to a claim? You also mentioned AMEX, why didn't you just chargeback with them and avoid PayPal altogether? I would suggest screenshots to prove the Refund option is not there. I think that is your best bet dude, even though I think that you may want to walk out of here quickly on your own accord. It seems many people are not happy with you.

I am completely impartial to this (although it sounds like a scam) but wanted to point out that maybe both parties are saying dispute when they mean claim?

Please see this link for PayPal Help Center on the issue

from the post of OP, i assume it was not escalated. If not, still essencewebs can refund by clicking resolve now...

He promised to get me to #1 in Google for the term "unlock iphone". If I sent him $150. LOL. (Sorry to butt in) BARGAIN

I called PayPal to open the dispute. I have top tier resolution support because of the large amount of business I do with PayPal. They said they would handle it and the seller had a certain amount of days to respond to their request. Approx 150.00 was from my PayPal account and 25 charged to my Amex via PayPal.

I think going by the multiple members claiming to be ripped off by this guy, it's obvious who is in the wrong here.

As far as I am aware a dispute cannot be escalated to a claim before a certain number of days of the dispute being open and the seller given a chance to respond

You can escalate regardless of number of days. You can pay someone and in a few seconds file a dispute and escalate if you call Paypal as they have the right to do that when you request it over the phone. I have done it many times.

The last time I disputed a payment was a year ago and I couldn't escalate it to claim until 7 days later. That was for a tangible product though.

I don't think it matters, one of the reps told me you have the right to dispute it and escalate it over the phone you just tell them your case - something like "I paid the seller and he blocked me immediately"

In Skype chat with him, I asked him if he:

- Has a web site. He said no.
- Has any references or testimonials. He said no.
- Is member of any forums. He said no. (he's here - yeah right!)

Stay away from him!

Then that explains the thing, you can't escalate the thing to claim from the web right away, unless you phone them.

Should I go ahead and escalate it to a claim then?
No response from the seller as of yet.

If you wait for a few more hours, and he doesn't refund you, then BigBuddy can ban him. But if you escalate now, he can claim that he tried to refund, but you escalated.

Google says there is another case 6 days old on Dp... but that thread is deleted on that forum. Hmm...

Are there more such incidents?

P.S.:
Is that todd.anderson22 or todd.anderson122?
