Hiya guys just started using media.net and noticed my rpm dropping like crazy with the more traffic I send to my page for example day one had only 12 views and the rpm was just over $78 now I'm getting 2k plus visters it's gone down to as low as 0.01 rpm. Is this normal. Does anyone know how to increase the rpm again as at the moment I would need 100k view's just to earn a dollar lol. Can't get the screen shot of my dashboard to display but it's at http://imgur.com/a/T8dwfv0

The shape of my last 7 days is almost 100% opposite of yours....my traffic and RPM crashed to under $0.50/1000 impressions last Sunday, and stayed that way until yesterday(Saturday) when it surged back spectacularly....

Overall, if you can average $2/1000 impressions throughout the year on a varying mix of niches....that appears to be the norm....there will always be high days & holidays that throw up exceptions, but when viewed over the longer period it is pretty reliable.

Well your RPM is always about no clicks coming when the traffic was increasing and this is why you need a traffic source that will be bringing clicks alongside the traffic as well.

This is why i am asking the below question...

Does anyone know the best way to promote a website with media.net Ad network on it?
Or any paid traffic source that can increase my RPM on media.net

Cheers dude didn't know the rpm included people who didn't click the ad. I hat explains why it's dropped then as must have had more people clicking when the traffic was lower

Media.net needs traffic from 3 countries: US / UK / CA, so if you have traffic from other countries, it is not well seen by them and may result in receiving information about "low quality traffic".

From what I was able to find out if you get a sudden drop in RPM to 0, it means you do not have or you have too little traffic from the previously given 3 countries. Unfortunately, in the case of media.net, even if you have high-quality traffic from other countries, this is practically irrelevant as 90% of media.net earnings comes from the US, therefore they focus on advertisers from this country.

Solution? Block any traffic from non-Tier 1 countries and you'll see better results. Additionally, you can talk to your account manager about activating "display ads" which will significantly increase your revenues.

Seriously, you're comparing 12 impressions with 2000+ and expecting the RPM to follow the same multiplication?

This is small sample size and nothing can be inferred by this nor expect a 10x in impression to result in a 10x increase in any other metric. Let's use an analogy. I don't know what sport you follow but mine is baseball. Say Mike Trout (or use any other player) hits two homeruns on opening day, do you really think, even as good as he is, he'll hit 324 for the year? No. Look at a longer time frame. If he has 7 at the end of April, chances are he'll end up with 40-45 for the year.

In short, you got lucky that first day and hit a homerun or two. A good start and very encouraging but not a sustainable pace for the whole year.

That's normal, if you had 12 visits and half of them clicked - your RPM is high, if you send thousands of traffic and have no clicks - RPM drops.

Sorry only just see your message but cheers for the advice I'm going to pop him a message in regards to display ads. And try and block any non tier 1 traffic.
