McDonalds cashiers can't count..

you see this OP's post and you throw hate comments here what more if you are the cashier standing 8 hours and stress keeps building i bet you assholes cant last an hour.

You 'd be surprised but there are lots and lots of people that work under stress and management harassment that actually can count.

Everybody does mistakes. I 've done very stupid mistakes. The thing is you 've got to realise it when you are wrong and try to improve yourself. That 's when you are worthy of praises, even if you 've made a mistake.

That cashier though, threw the money back, sending the customer away. That 's an awful stance - makes the company look bad (not that McDonalds looks good :D). If any employee of mine did that to a customer, they 'd be gone the same day.

...
In our country most of the people working on McD are working students who are working part time to pay for their tuition and based on the people i know people who are working for their school payments are the smartest.
...
Then who are customers there?

I worked there this pass summer but only because of a work and travel program. I dont regret it, however i will never work there again. I was more educated than the managers, all the black guys there have been to prison and about 80 % of the white ones. I am from Jamaica by the way so i'm black. But i did not know that there was so many uneducated stupid persons living in america. Mcdonalds is for the least fortunate as far as i can see. Never the less its the most influential job i have ever had, it will also be my last. It thought me to become my own boss and stop taking shit from people.

Everyone has stress, become a programmer and then compare it's stress to being a cashier, but you get paid to take the different stress levels,if i could make the same money i do programming being a cashier at McDonalds i'd be turning in an application

They work at Mcdonalds. People working there are usually stupid as shit or have been in prison for quite a while.

Not all are stupid, my friend worked at mcdonald's before he started going to college & working with me ;)

no one is perfect but in that case the cashier made a mistake maybe he/she didn't count properly the money that was being paid off. It is really important that any cashier must be fully active in his/her task but the most important thing is that the cashier must be open-minded and never get angry to the customers because customers is always right....

Sounds like there's a couple of McD's cashiers in here. :)

You want to know my point of view? That's their job and that's how I treat them. I'll hand you a pocketful of pennies and if you've got a problem with that, go get your manager. I'd be happy to explain to each of you that it actually is United States currency valued at the amount requested for the items purchased.

You can either count it out and therefore.. Do your goddamn job. Or you can pick it up off the floor, because it'll be worth $2 in pennies to me to see you do that.

That's life and honestly, no offense, that's why you're at McDonald's. To learn that that's life and to do your goddamn job. If my job is to fill your cup, your cup will be full. Do you think I get to go tell Google, "awww, but I don't wanna write a bunch of articles and manually submit a hundred back links. That's so much work!"

If you get pissed off over having to spend 30 seconds counting out $2 in change (btw, yes, 30 seconds. If it takes you 2-3 minutes, you're fucking retarded and we found another reason you're at McD's), then go back to your mommy's house and sleep on the couch for the next 15 years because you're not cut out for the work force. What are you going to do when I show you a filing cabinet stacked with papers and tell you I want them ALL sorted by numerical order of the phone number?

Then when you're done with that... Wait, no.. Let's do it by last name. Done? Aww, this doesn't work. How about if we take the first letter of the last name, use the corresponding number (A=1, B=2, etc) and divide that by the 4th digit in the phone number? Organize it like that.

Just do it. That's your job, do it. You're a garbage man? Pick up the fucking trash. You're a window cleaner? Clean the shit out of that window. You're a marketing executive? Make that ad convert, son. Otherwise, move the fuck over for somebody who will.

You will never get any recognition and therefore advancement by bitching about any annoying, petty aspect of your job. If you want to move up as fast as possible, do everything your job entails to the very best of your ability, as fast as you can, with as few "how do I?" questions as possible, as quietly as possible. When you're done, the only question should be, "Thank you, sir. May I have another?" You will be telling your grumbling, complaining, bitchy co-workers what to do soon enough.

Unless you just have a shitty job with a shitty boss. Then GTFO of there.

The Education in America doesn't want to teach personal finance and business math. They focus too much on subjects that will not help you in real life, because they have to prepare you for college.

This is also the reason why there is so much problems in America with the rich getting richer, while the poor and lower class getting poorer.
dude, i think it's always the same thing everywhere. Education alone, no matter where you learn, won't bring you anywhere. In the end people must learn by themselves, that's how you can differ someone from people around him.

Then who are customers there?

most are rich people and the ones who just received a bonus pay.

im from a 3rd world country where what we call rich people here is equal to what you call poor people in america and im not exaggerating anything its real

we categorized eating at fast food as luxury

yep my country is crap :(

I love how basically not 1 person in here has given the Cashier the benefit of the doubt of "Making a Mistake". Have you ever worked in Fast Food? It gets freakin busy and overwhelming. You don't know if people were yelling at them in the background confusing them and making them lose count.

Bunch of assholes in here it seems like. I am sure nobody has EVER made a mistake before.

This guy obviously didn't make a mistake, he just doesn't know how to spell:

And this guy obviously never learned basic grammar because he didn't say the the poor and lower class ARE getting poorer (and even that doesn't sound correct.):

Nobody makes mistakes. Nobody gets confused. Everyone is either 100% perfect or mentally retarded and lacking proper education. Piss off.

I was referring to the general stats, obliviously there's people that went from nothing to mega rich. But the majority usually follow what there parents have done. If a person's parents was good at managing money they usually will be as well, and if a person's parents were bad at managing money usually they will to. America at once at a high illiteracy rate in reading and that was solved with education, now America has a high financial illiteracy rate and that needs to be solved.

Its also society, everyone has been made to want something fast. If a person has a choice of either getting fast food for lunch or bringing their own to work and they choose to bring their own food for lunch they could potentially save up to $1,000 per year. The same thing with college, people have been led to believe you should go to college right after high school and if you can't afford it and didn't get a scholarship then you should get a loan.

As for the fast food getting hectic why doesn't the company train people to expect that, then they will be even better and faster.

I worked in burgerking for a week when i was 16

You wouldn't belive how fast paced it is.
Dealing with mentalist customers & management constanly pushing you.

Without a doubt the worst job i've ever had and i've worked on fishing boats out at
sea for weeks at a time lol

3$ a coke ? :O
Where I live you can buy 4 Liters of coke with $3. Really !
With $1.5 you get a

It wont be long before they get rid of cashiers at places like McDonald's and replace them with ordering machines that you insert the money into.

This is why McDonald's came up with the Dollar menu. Everything cost a dollar + tax.

You should have been in the truck with me and my dad. I got a mc chicken and fries and gave them a 1.99... They came back with a dollar and a penny. I didn't complain because I got a free dollar. One penny can screw a minimum wage ran business in the long run.

This was done purposely to see if they would make a mistake... It turns out that counting manually is above their pay grade. Or anything their cash register can't do ;). I didn't have to pay any tax.
