Massive Direct Scrapebox Blast on Brand New Website

Super useful thread here. If you have the patience to read through it, there are a lot of details to learn.

Hey everyone,

Sorry about the delay in posting an update. Been traveling a lot this last week. Had to enjoy summer sometime!

So the second experiment is off and running. Starting to see a little improvement and definitely dancing around big time. The analytics are pretty funny as the dance is producing a wave pattern. Here are the current stats:

Avg Visits a day: 15.6
Avg Adsense Income/day: $0.41
Biggest Adsense day in last month: $2.31
GWT Links: 69

I did have traffic spike to 46 on one day with 85% coming from search. I also noticed that Google dropped some links off going from 192 to 69. It clearly has not started to register the new links, at least not in GWT. YSE on the other hand is picking up the new URL's with it currently reporting 4,219.

On days where traffic has been up revenue has followed. My clickthru's have been a little low at 1.7% but at this volume it's wise to wait before making drastic changes. One thing I have noticed, is on days where traffic is above 35 my click thru's jump to 3.5%. So I believe this to be a volume issue more than anything.

I also finally worked out the content problem I had, which I think I might have mentioned in an earlier post. I've got enough content to post 5 articles a week for about the next month, but will probably by ordering more.

That's pretty much it for now. I'll be around the forums pretty often this week so feel free to post questions and comments. I will try to respond in a reasonable time.

Thanks everyone!

very interesting and helpful thread!

Hi bfellow,

I am wondering how do you take care your adsense account? How you keep it safe from getting banned? Thank you.

Hey All,

The site has been slow growing for over a week now, which is probably the best. No sharp spikes, but really good revenue growth. Here are the current stats:

Avg Visits a day: 24.4
Avg Adsense Income/day: $1.94
Biggest Adsense day in last month: $4.52
GWT Links: 268

I've added a few new articles which were ranked very quickly. These really helped out with both the traffic and revenue. Greater exposure to keywords allow the website to grow horizontally in the SERP's. Vertical growth hasn't been to big, but I'm still in the incubation stage. I am first page for my primary keyword (exact match domain) and pulling about 25% of traffic from it.

Moving forward I will be hitting it with a PR links list I have been putting together as well as adding a lot more content.

QUESTIONS:

To answer the question above about protecting my Adsense account, I don't have to do anything. Google Search and Adsense are two different departments in Google. Google may sandbox me for aggressive backlink growth, but since on page I am completely with in the TOS of Adsense, I will have no problem with my account. I've had the same account for several years now with not one issue.

My advice is if you are going to go black hat with Google, do it in search, not with Adsense. If you get a sudden surge from traffic in Search, you keep the money. It's never fun running up a huge Adsense check only to watch it go to shit because you've been clickjacking or something stupid.

Questions and comments always welcome!

I have a question about your hardware!

I'm looking to pick up a couple of servers on eBay or the like and reproduce some of the stuff you've been up to. I don't really know much about the actual hardware requirements of Scrapebox though, so I can't tell whether I'm getting way too much or way too little.

You have any overall recommendations on Processors, Ram, HD size? Are different parts of the machine stressed when doing scraping versus posting? Aside from the licensing cost, is it better to have a bunch of lower-level machines each with their own instance, or just cram a bunch of VMwares into a higher-end machine?

Thanks!

great information bro i just got some sparks im my head and some lights just flickered
will def keep an i on this thread

bfellow - what i dont understand is in bold

1) For pinging, what I did was I pinged the first block of links. The first blast I took all the live links and put them into XML files using links2rss.com. Then I uploaded them to a different domain name, and I mass pinged all the XML files. Each file has only 100 links, so I had a LOT of pinging to do.

I do not know where to begin with questions on this. So very confused

Bump, same question:

Update? How's the website doing so far?

Hey all,

Sorry for the delay in posting. Just got back from vacation. Trying to enjoy summer when I can!

First an update, and then I will answer a question that I saw above.

UPDATE

First the stats:

Avg Visits a day: 38.9
Avg Adsense Income/day: $3.25
Biggest Adsense day in last month: $7.85
GWT Links: 3,775

Organic traffic has increased by a wide margin. This isn't really coming from higher keywords but more from having lots of long tail keywords. So the trend of horizontal growth continues. On a lot of these long tail keywords I rank extremely well, most on page 1 ranking between 3-6.

I've have ramp'd up link building with Scrapebox and GWT is starting to see sharp increased in the number of links discovered (Jumped from 268 to 3,775 over the last 14 days).

Income has steadily increased as my visitors have increased, giving me a nice healthy scaling. What is also nice is the site is just about at the point where it by itself is making the $100 minimum for Adsense payout. Not a big deal for me having lots of Adsense sites on my account to easily make the minimum, but it is always nice to see a site mature to that level.

MOVING FORWARD

Moving forward I will continue to focus on growing the site through content acquisition and link development. I plan on just banging it with Scrapebox for a while. If I see the growth curve dive I'll add some diversity, but right now all systems go.

I am working on a new automated system to combine TBS, Google Trends, a custom content scraper, RSS, pinging, and link building. Looking to take a new approach to Auto blogging. I had a system in place a couple of years ago but hit some major scaling issues (1-3K new pages of content daily). I've since sorted them all out. I thought about making this system based on WP but have moved away from that idea for now, though still a possibility in the future.

I'll provide an update later on, but I imagine it will take a month+ to sort it all out and test it before having anything valuable to hand back to the community.

NOW FOR QUESTIONS

I think I explained this earlier in the thread, but it's getting pretty long so I will address it again.

Say you have a site, Site1.com that you are building links to. What I would do is take the list of links (generated from Scrapebox) and create an XML file using links2rss.com. Then I would upload those files to Site2.com, a domain that is completely different from Site1.com. I would then ping all those lists. That way It's not Site1.com->SBBlogcomment.com->Site1.com where it creates this loop that looks bad to Google, but Site2.com->SBBlogcomment.com->Site1.com. It's more linear this way. Make sense?

I will try to provide an update in the next few days.

Questions and comments are always welcome!

Hi bfellow,

I have a few autoblog sites that I've forgotten about and haven't done much in the way of revenue for the last year. I've been using a variety of Scrapebox tactics to generate links and would like to contribute to your testing.

I'm interested in comparing links in post name vs an actual link the blog post.
Have you tested this or just seen great results with the link in the Post Name?

One most interesting read, waiting for results to blast the hell out of my sites

I'm excited to see how the new site develops. It will be interesting to see if you can get past the glass ceiling you were referring to with your first experiment. Hopefully all the extra content will make a difference.

How much do you vary your Anchor?

Did you blast a lot of links with your domain name as anchor ( Brand Linking ) ?

What software you use to see for what keywords you rank allready?

Yea I read through your whole thread to get every detail but it was and still is confusing me. I'm still so damn confused, I guess on visualizing and the terminology.

I don't even really know what to ask.
- The list of links, that is a list of links that have Site #1's comments, correct?
- Or is a list of all the PAGES you commented on, not the link to the specific comments you left?
- Why upload an xml of all your posted comments containing site #1's links on another website?
- Why not just ping the comments you posted/their links?
- I don't understand your mindmap of the xxx > xxxxx > xxxxx, I don't see how google would see it as a loop of site #1 > commentonMISCblog.com > site #1, I don't see how site #2 would link to the MISCblog, I know how the miscblog links to site #1 via the comment.

I'm trying to avoid PMing you here incase anyone else doesn't understand and can read this is needed too.

Damn, i've spent whole night of reading this thread... learned pretty much from the experiment. One of the most interesting threads on BHW...
