Hello BHW friends,

I'd like to know what is your experience about this:

I have 1 article of 3.000 words but I don't know If I should to do 10 of 300 words or just 1 of 3.000 words.

It's 1 article of 1 keyword but I took 10 long tail keywords.

What do you think?

I would do 1x3000 words instead of the 10x300. IMHO, this long articles do well with google.

Hi, @Frankkk. Good day.

If I understand you correctly, you're asking if it makes sense to cut your 3,000-word article into 10 articles with 300 words apiece, aren't you?
If your answer is affirmative, the answer is "it depends". If you'll divide that lengthy article into 10 short articles, will each article still have a good train of thought? That's one thing you may want to consider.

Look at the last Google update. Most "seo" related articles ranking tops are 25 pages long and they scroll down forever.

That's a HINT.

3000 words is my first choice, you should see the articles on top 10 rank on your target keywords.

Hey,

Based on my experience I would definitely go for one long one, too. Especially, if you plan to rank for all those long tail keywords, you'd better go with one long article. Think about future link building, too: Would you like to build links to 10 separate URLs to rank for those longtails separately or rather to one article that contains all those lontail KWs. The less URLs you need to build links to the less costly it will be.

3000 words is great, but you really have to use properly the Hn tags so that Google can understand what is the overall structure of this long article.

Hi, @bartosimpsonio. Neil Patel suggests long but substantial and informative articles in one of his posts, too.

What Neil Patel does is:

1) Search Google

2) Observe something about the top results.

3) Take note of 2 or 3 points

4) Write about it and sell guru talks and so on.

You just gotta observe the top results on Google's latest update to see it favors very very long posts.

Long content is great for ranking, especially when you're trying to beat out competitors.

It isn't just the length, though... it's about the QUALITY too!

If you have 5,000 words of junk, it isn't going to do very well. Unless you're Amazon, lol.

Absolutely long articles will give good results in rankings instead of short articles.
Long articles have more chances to place maximum links to get good traffic.
But you have to check twice before using because Quantity is not important Quality is the main thing for every Google updates.

I would say go with a mixed bag, few 1000 word articles and few random word count articles.

In my suggestion, you can go with long articles. But make sure that articles are of good quality.

I feel sorry for many replies up there. Quality content, full of junk ! Like google can read articles

Anyway.. @OP, it depends on your goal.

If you want to rank for 1 main keyword. Then , go for one article.
If you want to rank for many keywords, then divide them and optimize each for their own keyword.

When I say keywords, I mean different keywords ! Not longer version of the same keyword. The best way to make the decision is by checking the competitors. If they are competing in the same exact keyword, then you need to build an article targeting this same keyword. You won't outrank the competitor who build a specific page for Long tail keyword with your main keyword. You might come third or fourth, but not first.

Finally, according to latest statics, the average article length in the first page google results is 2000 - 2400 words.

So, it depends in many factor but the best way to find out, check out top results and do the same.

OP go with few small articles and few long ones, i am doing this.

There's a difference between a short content and a long but thin content. I think your 3000 word article is okay, but you need to make sure that it's a high-quality and useful enough to impress Google.

Personally, I would post it as a 3,000 word article, then make 10 LSI/LT posts ranging from 300-800 words and link them into the article.
