Manual Action by Google

Hello All,
This has been an experience for me. I bought an expired domain with good DA. Spam score was 1. But when I got this Domain Live and added webmaster it showed "Pages on this site appear to use aggressive spam techniques such as automatically generated gibberish, cloaking, scraping content from other websites, and/or repeated or egregious violations of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines."
I am wondering what to do? Will it rank after manual action is lifted?

What’s your question?

Assuming it’s something along the lines of “what to do”, you’ll need to build out the site and submit a reconsideration request. However, I doubt the domain is worth too much... I’ve had this happen and even after getting the penalty lifted I was never able to rank the domain well at all.

Maybe others have been more successful with it.

I have already submitted a reconsideration request. What are the chances they will lift the Ban?

What have you built on the site? If it is empty, they will not lift the ban. I realize it is illogical that they continue to say there are aggressive spam techniques on an empty site, but that's just the way it is.

I had to build a proper site and resubmit twice before I got the ban lifted. Since it never ranked for more than a handful of keywords, and all of those on page 5 or lower, it was not worth the effort for me.
 
You just got the hammer on your domain, it will be very hard to rank it.
If it isn't important I suggest you to buy a new one. If it's important try to speak with google support and tell them your situation.

I had the problem in 2006, unfortunately, the page is still blocked by google, great if someone can help what to do , because I own many old domains. 2004 and older
 
Don't worry, just build your new site and make it very legit and clean, after a while (say some months), submit reconsideration request, if rejected, send again, till you are lifted by those fxxker.
 
Lifting the penalty of old domains is piece of cake - just build legit website with half decent content and thats it. The question that remain however is how well will rank after the penalty is lifted..

I made one test and the website rank half decent. The problem however is that I do not know how well was ranking before the penalty :D Now trying another one - will add content related to the old niche, links and achors and content that is not related to them - if the content relevant to the links ranks better than the non related one, then the links still gave power after the penalty..
 
Seems to me it's not worth the time and risk of poor ranking. I would start over and save your clean content for the new site. Really, are you going to put in a bunch of work and wait months or longer to see if it ranks well. And then if it doesn't you risk being penalised for duplicate content when you move it to a new site. I would cut your losses and start a new site now in the same niche. I am no expert, just my 2 cents. Domains are cheap, time is priceless. Best of luck.

Why dont you just buy an other domain?
 
I didn't read any answers; If I was at your place, I will redirect that domain to outer space and get a new one. Just my opinion.

Not sure if you are talking to me or to the OP. Anyway I do it because I want to do the test. With this knowledge tomorrow may got an 1k RD penalized domain with brutal link profile for $10, clear the penalty and rank it like crazy.

Was talking to OP, but thank you for the reply. I am no expert by any means. Sounds like a good idea to experiment the way you do to get the knowledge.
