Man I really hate people

So srb, you are saying when people start getting me I should just go to my happy place? :D I would love to.

Honestly folks, this wasn't a rage or violent thread or even a hate thread. I think its more of a disappointment thread. The human race could be capable of such amazing things but we are locked in our daily squabbles and we develop contempt for each other. Rats in a cage.
Rage / anger / Disappointment = They all hurt. getting clammed up in your shell also hurts. Make yourself so strong that you leave the situations much below. You fly over them!

Let people start getting at you with whatever tantrums, then turn them away, don't turn yourself away! You'll find that the tantrums will be reduced, or they'll leave you and find someone else! :) At least, you'll enjoy fighting and also winning the situations with better control. :D

Whatever the fear or cause, you must face them with your face and not with your back. ;)

I understand that, but my question is how to get the universe I want to see, when I am happily going about minding my own business and respecting others, but other people cannot return that? That their own needs and greed allow them to insult others, leave them waiting, block their path, ruin an eating out experience or a visit to a library?

How do you get beyond that to get the universe you want to see?

I honestly believe that you are given powers to create your own "universe". Find and use them... if it calls for you to change your strengths, change them. For example, I have seen that when you are expecting trouble and are worried, then the trouble will come and hurt you. But when you are expecting trouble to come and are looking forward to conquer it as soon, then the trouble, even if it comes, comes without powers to hurt you. At later stages, you'll be able to keep the troubles away at will! If you still want to go further along these lines, you can keep trouble away from the other lives that you choose.

That's the philosophy I have always followed after learning about it the hard way!
:)

That is sad.

One might have learned his mother is suffering from cancer, another might have just broken up with his gfriend, another might have just had an argument with her father and the list is endless.

My point is all of us go through life with what we name 'problems'. To me there is no such thing as problems. This is just a mental label the society has put around things that challenge us. 'Problems' can drive us back or forth in life. But not them per se. Rather the way we deal with them and the meaning we give to them.

Coming again to the drive-thru kid example, see how you can easily reframe the situation and therefore the way you're feeling about this just by asking and really take the time to answering these questions: (this applies to anybody you feel this way about)

1) What else can this mean?
2) I don't like this f*u*c*k*i*n*g kid but if I had to like him for just one minute, what would I like about him?
3) Has there been a time in my life that I acted like this kid to others? What made me be such a jerk? Would I forgive myself in hindsight for having been and acted like that?
4) What are the five things that I am mostly grateful in my life about RIGHT NOW?

Stupid Newbie....one day you'll get it ;)

the more time I spend at the computer the more I feel social anxiety disorder growing inside me.. man this really sucks.. even weed makes me paranoid now... :grumble:

Shouldn't you talk to your wife about this? I mean She must be closer then some Bhatters...Also If yo Don't play guitar already you should learn :)

Yeh, why not!

Problems are way of life. You must learn to handle them or even learn how to get nasty and break its limb or two.

Once you learn to do that, you will enjoy! Possibly, your CPA offers will begin converting better too! :) How about 1 conversion in every 4? Haha!

Sorry for the double post. The forum's tantrum bug ultimately got me! :)

You didn't understand what I meant. I was simply trying to do a crude poll! I.e How many of us here on BHW have seen a therapist or similar at some point?

Also, when I said "here's a new one", I literally meant, "here's something else new to talk about, hopefully you'll find it interesting".

I think you assume too much. Especially in a negative way.

I'm actually a graduate in Medicine & Surgery. I became a doctor when probably some one here (!) wasn't even born.:) So, No! It isn't a case of "new" one born few minutes ago, you see. :D I turned away from it when I saw there was more corruption and greed all around where they shouldn't have been. If I had gotten myself involved I would have had a bungalow, car, etc. When it became apparent that I HAD to get along or get out, I opted to get out and then finding a job or do private practice in that field was simply stopped for me because I knew too much and also talked. ... We were expecting our first child then, and I had to take care of my parents too. I was just 28 then... I don't regret the lost "opportunities", or the lost years... the situation brought the best in me... I studied computer programming, did get to top positions in various engineering and software companies, traveled the world, made a small place for myself even on this wild internet. ... I also believe that this is the only post on this good thread that I would never read a second time... Why? You would never understand. No hard feelings :)

And I don't feel such threads or posts are ironic, even on BHW. We're STILL a big wonderful family, and when someone is down or un-pleased with life, we should try to make him feel better, if you can see! :)

Breaking your leg or someone dear having cancer... no, you're not expected to be God or live like Him. You're expected to be passionate human being, loving, caring, doing business when you need to do business, love your family when you are needed or even not needed, and do all your duties... btw, did you stop your, err, night activities when the leg was broken or healing? Then why cry? You're actually required to do whatever you must and in whatever situation to survive... and possibly try to help the needy if you feel like doing it. Make money, have fun, but know the life's secrets!

If you now call me a preacher, I would be more than happy, I don't have a degree in that but I always had the company of a real Great One. I reflect (sometimes, anyway ;)) whatever I learn from Him. Otherwise I'm a very normal human being. :)

Yes, thank you for the mention... I simply admire and worship Mother Theresa! God Bless Her!

My posts on this thread are written with the sole purpose of trying to reason with OP and put him in a positive frame, that's all.

As the first person replied, start loving instead of hating, a lot will change, don' just say I love this I love that, actually feel it, your world will change, trust me.

You talk positive nonsense! :D No hard feelings though... still.

It's not uncommon to hate so much in todays world. We as a species and culture have evolved into a mass of metrosexual, sissy ass, weakling society of daft, inane sheep who fear everything and have almost NO survival instincts at all. This is true mostly of the capitalist countries but is in effect all over the world. To top that off as a culture/species most of us are actually arrogant and full of pomp to the point that it is sickeningly laughable. The best way I could describe it is by comparing your average person to one of those small annoying dogs like a chihuahua (sp?). Your average person is weak to the point of uselessness or fat and out of shape, yet they still run their mouths like they were superman/woman.

The average person mocks all things they are not "into" or that they don't understand. And by the age of 11 everyone thinks they understand and know everything. The average person is very introverted and anti social outside of their "comfort zone" and when in groups of "friends" or comfortable companions tends to act tougher or louder than they ever would alone. The average person is obsessed with money and looking better then they feel on the inside, and they believe their feelings are the end all of importance in the world. Self Important, self absorbed, self righteous, decadent, vein, egotistical, cowardly, hypocritical, honor-less little fcking weasels! THAT is the world we have made for ourselves by trying to abandon what we are... ANIMALS. Just simply "thinking" animals, we are NOT special!

The only thing that will ever change this as a whole is a collapse of society as we know it, just as it happened to the decadent Roman empire once it reached this level of critical mass. Many people will have to die and nature must regain it's power over us because as it stands now the human world is as unnatural as it can get, and with this we constantly breed weak DNA and weakling values into a weak society of people who in true natural surroundings would NEVER make it past birth.

This has always been why I HATE the world around me and only respect strength and HONOR, something that is dead in today's world. People put feelings and silly laws above the one and only thing that can ever govern us as a whole (the system of true honor) where if you do something that is wrong, you will want punishment, not try to weasel out of punishment.

The problem is that most people want to be coddled and taken care of by stronger men, as long as those weaklings speak for the majority we will be trapped in this human Zoo of insane laws, corruption, greed, lies and tyranny. And to be honest... all who sit there and say or do nothing about it DESERVE it!

So what's my point? If you truly hate this society you live in there are two things you can do. Either CHANGE what you can OR just Leave and start your own separate society. I for one gave up on changing the world years ago, people like to be blind so I say F em' they don't deserve the truth. My goal is to have my own society of decent people, and it's not as far fetched or insane as the average fool may think. In fact I expect to be criticized for it by the very people I wish to depart from. So the key is in finding those that think alike, screw everyone else because they deserve the misery they are part of each day. ;)

Yeah, I got what you meant and I think you were right on in your observations.
How many replies you got in this thread just goes to show how big a deal it really is. Going to your "Happy Place" might make it easier to accept, but it's not going to change what's happening around us. You just pointed out a problem in our modern society that most of us also see happening everday.

Right On! Thanks for making your original post.

As the first person replied, start loving instead of hating, a lot will change, don' just say I love this I love that, actually feel it, your world will change, trust me.
This is pretty good advice, especially if the idea is carried a little further.

The best thing to do is make sure that you're living your life as an example of how you feel it should be. Regardless of how rude and selfcentered other people are, we should try to remain polite and respectful ourselves. When you get to a doorway and someone else is there too, hold the door open for them and say "after you". When talking to strangers, be sure to use sir or ma'am when your addressing them. That applies even if your 50yo and you're talking to an 18yo. It isn't about age, it's about respect. When you want someones attention, or you accidentally get in someones way, say "excuse me". You need some assistance, say "please". Someone needs you do move out of the way, then just do it. After someone helps you say "thank you", when someone shows gratitude say "your welcome". When someone is visiting you and you get a phone call, make sure it isn't an emergency and then tell the caller you'll call them back later. The list goes on, but I'm sure you get the point.

If other people aren't doing those things it might be irritating, but don't let that stop you from doing the right thing. Rather than demanding respect from others, we should concentrate on making sure that we do show respect. No one can really control how other people act, but we can control how we ourselves act. In doing so, there are some people that might see how much nicer it is to act in such a way and might do something similar around the next people they meet.

The thing about human nature is that behaviour is somewhat contagious. If your around rudeness and selfcenteredness all the time it starts seeming much more natural. If you make a point to always remain polite and respectful then there's a chance that other people might pick it up a little as well.

It isn't a perfect solution, but your own behaviour is the only thing you really have control over. Showing respect even if you don't need to (even if other people aren't doing the same) is a sign of character and strength, it isn't a sign of weakness.

People put feelings and silly laws above the one and only thing that can ever govern us as a whole (the system of true honor) where if you do something that is wrong, you will want punishment, not try to weasel out of punishment.

I guess to some extent your talking about the same thing. Honor is a lot of what I'm talking about. Showing respect for others, having some ethics, and using etiquette is an honorable way to live your own life. Honor is about what you do, not what you expect of others. If everyone lived their lives with a sense of honor, then most of the discussion in this thread would be unnecessary.

Since the world has just become one big society now, leaving to start your own society isn't a real option. Might have been possible a few hundred years ago, but now the only real option is to change the things you can. As I mentioned above, changing how we ourselves act is the only thing we really have control over, that leaves it as the only real option to better society. Before we can make society better, we have to make ourselves better.

The code of chivalry the knights in the Arthurian legends followed required the knights themselves to remain honorable even in the face of dishonarable behavior. I think most of the sense of honor in the Eastern philosophies are similar in that requirement. Physical strength isn't an issue, might doesn't make right. Honor carries it's own strength. Being in the right is what makes something right.

Mate this is one of the reasons I turned to Blackhat. It just seemed that everyone everywhere seemed to think you owed them something. You give them a fiver they wanted a tenner etc. They all talked to me like an idiot and only called me when they wanted something. I felt, f**k it, I feel I'm a good person and these people are screwing me over so I'm gonna pass it on. Karma, sorted :)

eh. I don't think it's social anxiety per se... IMers have what I like to think of as "inside information" about the human condition and how business works. It's their job to persuade and "manipulate" people into thinking certain ways. To get them to do stuff like puppets. It's the IMer's job to "pitch a sale" to the weak minded. I totally feel like the OP sometimes. It's like when you're away from the computer and interacting with people in every day life you realize that most of them are just lemmings and only interact with you or form a relationship with you if it benefits themselves. You start to feel like those in real life are the same group of people that you're trying to persuade and manipulate. They're the masses of people on Facebook that you spam or the traffic that you buy to get AdSense clicks. All of these lemmings seem to want something from you...you can see it everywhere, but they themselves are blind to it. They want to be heard or noticed (so they talk your ear off), they tell jokes that youve heard a thousand times (and they think they're being original), they hit on you or ask you for money, they get pissed off because things aren't going their way. They giggle and try to get attention and think that they're being cute, but really they're not. They talk loud on their cell phones in a crowd because they want to be noticed and heard and think they're the shit...but they're really not. They insist that they're really important because they work for ABC company and wear an armani suit but really they're just lonely and buy expensive stuff to try to make themselves feel better when they go to sleep at night. It makes them feel powerful. But they're really not. They knock on your door to try to sell you stuff because doing so gives them a fat bonus check or a trip to the bahamas. They act all nice and sweet like they really care about what you think and ask you questions to build rapport so that they can get the sale a few minutes later. You think that this conversation might actually have some meaning to them or that they'll remember it a week from now. But they won't. They cry and whine because life is going all wrong for them and they cant pay their rent because theyre being lazy and wont get off their ass to go find a job or find a way to make money but instead they feel sorry for themselves and blame the economy and everyone else except theselves. It's annoying. Family isn't like that though. They love you just for being you. They don't want anything most of the time. They just allow you to "be" without any sort of intent to get something out of your relationship.

Oh yes...and people, just because people are feeling this way doesn't mean that they need zoloft or a shrink or something. It's just a different perspective of the world than most have. I read somehwere in a high IQ forum (prometheus society maybe) that the smarter you become...the more disconnected you also become from the average population. you're forming connections in your brain and thinking quicker on your feet than most and because you're moving so fast and in a completely different world mentally than most....it's only natural to start feeling like we (me and the OP and I'm sure some others in here) do. it's classic darwinism...survival of the fittest. If you are stronger, more knowledgable and more skilled....use it to your advantage and conquer the world! lol ;)

no matter where you go now days people dont give a sh$$ anymore.. waitresses at restaurants are rude and dont give a sh#t.. that bothers me also because specially in restaurants thats how they make their money by being nice and they decide to be rude.. screw u no tip lol.... i feel like the new generation is definitely not as good as before.. young kids have no respect, and people in general dont care about anything...

Hey Tygrus,

I see you live in Canada, but most likely nowhere in Winnipeg I bet. You may want to live there I've been told it's the "I'm sorry" capital of the world.

Did you know that if you intentionally bumped into someone there, they'd say sorry even if it was your fault. You'd hear the words "I'm sorry" all day long....at the drive through window.....at the library....at an atm machine....store line up...everywhere. If they actually mean it is something else, but still it's nice to hear when you feel that someone is being rude.

I'm sorry if this was inappropriate ;)

Some places in canada are very friendly including winnipeg but its steadily going downhill in a lot of ways too.
