If I can arb traffic from somewhere that is more reliable than Facebook that would be cool, but I would have to be able to get quality cheap, which is just not out there. I would probably need $.008 to just break even.

Any suggestion or should I just continue building my fan pages and sending traffic that way?

What GEO is the traffic? Guessing it's not US since you need 0.008 cpc to break even? Give me more details about it and will advise you how to maximize monetization. Lower CPC than that is quite hard to achieve for Tier 1 countries. For Global traffic that's a lot.

Thanks for the reply. It's 98% US traffic. I earn basically in total from all my ads, about $8.00 per 1000 views, therefore slightly less then a penny gets me even and .0079 gets me profitable. I was able to get a ton of stories on facebook even at $.004 but those days are long gone....maybe. I will try again in a few weeks.

But besides SEO and free traffic, I don't think there is any place to buy traffic that cheap. My other alternative would be to index my stories more and get 3 or 4 pageviews per visit. Currently I'm averaging about 2.

When you can't go any lower with cpc, then you gotta make more with what you get. You can do better than $8 with US traffic. Try different companies, different methods. It's all about testing. Break down your article to pages so you get max amount of impressions/ad exposure.

Go aggressive with ads. You can't make your website look nice and expect profit. You want your visitors to click, not feel good

2. CPM/CPC/Sponsored Content. Nothing unusual or magical here. I did try CPA recently but not sure it's working as good as I was expecting.
The point is not just to buy any traffic, but to get the traffic that will like your content. If you pay 25 cents per user, but he comes back your site 5 times (or more) you can consider this user to be 5 cents (or less).

2. Does it work with any niche you select? Would it work with VIRAL, ADULT?
3. Do people come back to your site organically after they visiting your websites for the first time?
4. Does it work with Adsense? no banning? If yes, do you mind sharing ad networks which did not ban you? As you mentioned "quality" banning should not be the case here.

Not sure what your niche/site is, some more info on your profitable days would actually help to understand your situation better, but as an option you may want to try to monetize FB traffic by sending them to your Instant articles (instead of directly on the site) and use your ads in the Instant Articles or use the Audience Network (so you monetize FB traffic with FB network) or run Audience Network along with other networks through DFP and have DFP units on the FBIA page.

I was never banned from FB ads, the worst case that happened to me is one of the ads wasn't approved.

1. I have team of writers that are constantly working on providing unique and original content. Copying/stealing content is a short term and low quality business.
2. It will work with both viral and adult, I just prefer to work with other niches.
3. Not just come back, but become daily users. That's the whole point. Would you be back to the site which you like and find useful? Of course you will, that's why it is important to provide quality.
4. Works with any network, you should be worrying about banning if doing any kind of fraud.
