A link is a link. Yes some are stronger than other, but that is not to say you should forget about one link and only go after a certain type.

Just try to rank your site for related keywords aswell. And then write some articles/posts about those, so-called "longtail-keywords"

For instance:

If your three-word Keyword is "Pink Laptop Cases" maybe try to rank for "Pink Plastic Laptop Cases" , know where i'm going with this?

Try to find related longtail keywords, that have some search volume and a CPC > 0.30-0.50$ and then rank for those aswell.

If you can rank for all of your Keywords (let's say 5 Keywords with 300 exact searches per month) that's a sum of 1500 searches/month, resulting in an increasing cash-flow, from one site.
 
@aarontorng: Congratulations man. I have one question for you. You said that you keyword has a 2.0$ CPC. But how much did you actualy get ? Can you post some statistics ? Maybe for the last 7 days. Thanks.

Regarding your site, try AMR the free version. You'll get several hundreds backlinks, all ********, all with proper anchor text ;) That should really help you.

With all do respect, there are a lot of topics that give you step by step instructions on how to do keyword research. After that it's the best to take action and try something OR discuss on the forum your findings and how to proceed in the best manner.

Just use the search button and you'll find excellent information on doing keyword research.
 
Nice work aarontorng. You've taken that first step and had some success. I'll bet too that you've learnt more from building that first site than you would have from reading another 50 books on how to do it. Congratulations.

No, don't use blogspot its not worth it to waste time making a blog then have it banned !!

Were did you find a working socrates wordpress theme the once i found on here you cant change the header.

My secondary keyword is where I'm getting most of my clicks from and it's a .80 CPC, and I'm seeing around .4-.6 a click.

350 exact searches is way too little. Like u said u may get a click every day or two and it might be even less then half the cpc. Go for higher searches next time or it's a waste of time.
 
OK, dumb arsed question, but is there a recommended way to do the blog commenting? I too have gotten off my ass and have made a couple MNS sites, but the backlinking is the hardest part. No return yet, but optimistic following fellow BHers' great leads.

Could you tell me what tools you use for keyword research? Google keyword tool, market samurai? What I hate about google keyword tool is that you have to look at each keyword manually for the competition.

Besides that: My concern is before me myself start with microniche blogging is, wether I should take a domain with hosting or a free blogspot blog? I know that your own domain is better but maybe It doesn't raise its money and I can;t afford that. If my content is just legit written by myself and not about illegal sh*t, why not using blogspot?

Agreed WAY TO LOW ! but it was good for testing and giving you confidence :P I personally dont even touch a keyword if it has less than 3000 searches. Best of luck !
