make a website

Hi everyone,

i've finally decided to take action, to try something instead of making excuses and wondering around day after day.

i have already subscribed for Amazon affiliating program, i used a pinterest account, i don't have many followers so far, but i am working on it.

now i decided to make a website, however, as a newbie, it is kindda difficult, i am going to use wix.com to build it, i don't know if it si the best website builder or not, is there better builders?
I know that there is too much i don't know, and since i am starting from scratch, i am going to learn from my mistakes, but i was hoping that some of you might help, guide me by your experiences, and you've learned from websites.

it would be greatly appreciated if you try to help me here, in any way you think it useful to me, about the design, the domain name, the keywords, articles writing, copyrights, where to get free pictures, logo making, rating on google, tips for affiliating.... anything that comes to your mind.

wix sucks but better than nothing
what's the purpose of your site?
if you have $20 buy a domain from somewhere like namecheap, godaddy, namesilo
then buy hosting package to go with it
wordpress is very beginner friendly and you can make an okay-looking website. takes minimal skill.
now you'll have yourwebsite.com which looks a lot more legit than you.wix.com or however wix structures it, and a lot more freedom.
probably seems impossible as a noob.... but theres tutorials everywhere how to set it all up.
all your other questions...they're a google search away from being answered.

for the moment, i intend to use my site for affiliating, as a start of course, after that i will make more use of it.
i was thinking of designing the website on wix, then linking it with a purchased domain name, would it work? i thought that wordpress is kind of expensive and would not give me the exact design i want, so maybe if looked to my niche-related sites and mimicked their design using wix i would be better off. what do you think?

As said above , you can create a neat looking wordpress site , just youtube : "how to make wordpress website" most tutorials are 1 hour and in 1 day max you will have your website ready

the second step is to add content and that's what will take most of your time , you have to add at least 20 articles for it to seem legit , as it's an amazon affiliate website , you have to write reviews , I advice you to have 1 money article and some 19 (or more) "less" money articles .

You can write them yourself or outsource the writing , the most difficult thing will be the keyword research which you can also outsource or do it yourself.

If you don't do keyword research , don't bother losing your time.

one thing i want your advice about; i was thinking of buying an expired domain name, so i would benefit from the backlinks and all at that stuff (that's what i read somewhere) do you think it is really better than buying a new domain name?

Expired domain could be a trouble in the long run, you need to investigate if the backlinks are made on spammy sites, if those are 2.0, if the domain got hit by algorithms, if you want something done right, do it the right way from scratch, I know your feeling of buying an expired domain with a lot links, I did it myself! but then I learned from mistakes, is better to buy new domain and to do everything as natural as possible.

I recommend buying new domain, work on content, and do a lot of Social Media.

I am new to forum and don't know much but I have been reading threads and if you want good expired domains @Nargil is the guy

Yes, use Moz tools to check backlinks, then you would need to review one by one to see if the sites linking to the one you want to buy are legit or if are only websites done for backlink purposes, be carefull with link farms or websites that doesn´t moderate comments, also be carefull with those having thin content, if you find a lot of these then I don´t recommend you buying.
