My main (and only) Paypal account has just got limited, because I received money (not much, only about $15) from an e-shop that sells adult-related products ("it has been determined that you are in violation of PayPal's
Acceptable Use Policy regarding your sales / offers on myclient'ssite.com")http://www.mrvideoadultstores.com/. The truth is I don't have any sales/offers on that site, I only did some backlinking for them, and their pp account name from which I received the payment included the site's address.

I don't understand why it led to limiting MY account. It was BTW a completely clear transaction, no disputes or refunds asked for.

The problem is it's my main account, with almost $900 in it, and in the email they said it's a permanent limitation, and it can't be appealed. I can get my money back in 180 days. In the account I used my real name, real address, real phone number, also provided them with my scanned ID. BTW I'm from the EU.

Is there any way I could get my account back? Should I email them or call them (in this case what number, and with Skype or normal phone?)?

Thanks!

Is your account linked with a credit card and a bank account?

I'd suggest you try to call them! This is the best way you'll find a solution since waiting for the "Resolution Center" will not get anything done!

there domain probably triggered paypal systems meaning paypal have flagged their domain as being adult related.so anything adult related and paypal will limited you. they dont allow dealing with adult companies.

I've had this happen before. It's EXTREMELY frustrating. It typically happens when you're a service based business and there are no transaction paper trailers ( IE: no ebay sales, with shipment records, etc ).

You have to call paypal, sit on hold for a long time, ask to talk to a supervisor, send more documents, etc.

Absolute worse case scenario is that they will hold your money for 180 days, at which time you can claim it by sending in paperwork.

Remember, that paypal is NOT A BANK. They are under no federal regulations and anyone who uses them is at risk to lose all their money with no notice.

Good luck, I've fought this battle before and won.

Yeah, they probably saw that I received money from an adult-related site, but I have absolutely nothing to do with what they're selling, I just did some small SEO work for them.

yea they are douche bags, had mine limited last week made a thread about it. Its been fixed now thank god! phone them up and work what ever it is out with them, worked for me....

und welkommen to the club.............. Im prob on paypals most wanted list. NEVER KEEP PAYPAL MONEY IN YOUR ACCOUNT, ALWAYS CASH OUT!

Shit this happened to me. All I had to was call them, and bam with in 24hrs it was able to use again. don't even worry about it.

Once you get your money, don't run all your business through one PP account. Keep 2-3 stealth accounts just in case. And don't keep money in the account itself! Withdraw it to a bank or card, so PP doesn't lock it up if it limits your account again.

If they won't allow you to appeal, then just wait the 180 days. Better than nothing

It happened to me 2 years ago but got my lock removed after 2 weeks (they were suspecting money laundering since I moved big sums thru PP but after explaining my business it was cool beans).

REAL SCARY!!!

Me too I cash out much faster now...

Really feel sorry for you because like you i was also victim of Paypals stupid way to limit any account they want..... But seems like we are not alone...There are Millions ..

Hope Visa's Paypal like service (V.me) will be much better than paypal.

Call them and be extra nice to them. Practically beg them to unlimit the account. Let the employee know you will go out of your way to give them a great review for there help. If it doesnt work, politely end the convo and call back again and again and eventually you might get someone else that will do it for you.

your approach is incorrect

when there are seperate words google uses all of them
so you need to search as

"blackhatworld"
"my paypal account is limited"

So there's hope of recovering the account even if it's a permanent limitation, right? At least I really hope so. :(

Go ahead and make a call. Tell them that all you did was some SEO for a non adult-site etc.. You didn't know that the money will come from a client who owns an adult site.

In this case, you could POSSIBLY get it unlimited if you call them and explain what service you provided, but usually ANY payments from ANY adult website is a permanent limited account and they have to tell you "sorry, due to the nature of the ban, we are unable to open an appeal for this case." Paypal just doesn't want ANY "dirty" money in their system, and I can't blame them. Porn/Adult stuff is related to so many chargebacks and fraud issues.

paypals dont come a dime a dozen anymore. better take better care of your account.
