I have a magento 2 store of around 2k products and i'm now preparing to expand the scope of my store and add close to 30k products.\

i was wondering what are the side effects that may take place the best way to go about this operation.

would search engines react negatively to the addition of 30k links to my website?

they shouldn't

i was wondering... the best way to go about this operation.
Step 1... completely back up your site before doing anything

Step 2... write down the URLs of your most important pages (usually the ones that rank best and / or make you the most money) so you can verify that they're still in order after you finish adding the products

Step 3... if you do intend to mess around with the structure of your site, 301-redirect the URLs that suffer changes and are important, to their new location

Step 4... after you finish everything run a full site audit to check for potential issues and fix accordingly! Also don't forget to res-submit your (new) sitemap to your GSC for google to re-crawl and (hopefully) index the new products / discover the eventual 301 redirects

It just might take a long time. To mitigate the time, prioritize optimizing product descriptions, use canonical tags for duplicates, and ensure your site's performance is capable of handling the increased load. Using a clear URL structure, improving internal linking, and monitoring Google Search Console for any crawl errors.

I think Google shouldn't react negatively, but it could take a bit of time for them to crawl and index everything properly. It won’t be negative as long as you’re not adding low-quality or duplicate content. but I'd suggest you to phase the addition, like not throw all 30k products up at once. You could stagger it to let everything settle nicely.
