    Dear BHW users,

Our company is starting to impelement machine learning practices to our website. Basically we have enormous amount of data that we finally want to put in use. We have estimated 200 factors that in the result will generate content for user depending on his behavour, lead journey and current status. Want to point, that we are not e-commerce. So question is following: How does Google react on content that will be different for different users? For example headings, pop ups, widebar information and CTA's might be different.

Looking forward for answers from You.

    Lunatic

200 factors.. Would be very academically interesting model to take a look...
On to your specific question - I dont know how google will look at it.. I am sure they look it positively, because they use it in their search results.. "your" content is personalized to the user... You are looking at the holy grail..

many sites use dynamic content on pages for years and without ML. So, I think it will not be a problem, but I recommend to make some static text part on such pages.

Indeed, but if the content is different for ordinary client and for googles spider/bot then it's a red flag. Anyway after investigating I realized that there is no certain answer for this question, only thing we could do is what wpsoul said above - make majority of the text as static.

You're describing split testing essentially... and yes, Google knows what that is. All the big boys, like Amazon, use it and will show different users slightly different versions of pages. Shouldn't be an issue. If you believe it IS an issue, you might dail back the tests a bit and throw less at a test at one time.

If you're Amazon.com then Google won't care. As long as you spend lots on ads, you'll be fine.

But for smaller sites, having different content for different people may be considered cloaking.

just make sure you show the same for both Google and visitors

Google follows up eventually looking at dynamic content either by special bots or manually
that is the only thing I caution for dynamic content
it has worked in the past and should continue to do so

This is interesting because the crawler will rank and determine its algorithm from what it crawls at that moment.

Try opening webmaster tools and using fetch as google. Now if your the crawler and coming to your page multiple times a week (this is determined by the algo which gives you your crawl budget dependent on your site) are you going to see the site with different content each time and index that new page?

My guess is yes the crawler will keep indexing whatever it sees so if its unique to it youll get ranked by whatever your showing it and if its different the second time around it will rank that page, using fetch as google is your best bet I think.

According to what you're saying, I can't understand why you'd want google to index that, as it sounds very user specific. The only way i'd think to allow google to index that, would be to publish a copy of whatever the user generates. But this may eventually lead to duplicate content issues.

Right, Google will only rank what it sees. If you want more variations to be discovered then you'll need some way for google bot to find them all.
