Lost my job, need to make $4000

Don't you have any savings from your job? SEO takes time and effort. Ranking a site takes time and effort. You cannot come in with 4k capital and expect to bank 4k per month.

$6 * 3 * 8 * 7 = $1008. How did you arrive at the need for $4000? If $1000 will keep the lights on and get you something from the dollar menu for dinner, that at least makes earning it through something like fiverr slightly more possible. As others have suggested, it'll be easier if you can cut more of your expenses, too. Start cutting them now, though, before another billing cycle kicks in.

That's 1 week. 4 weeks in a month.

Yeah, I misread and just realized you said "week." I wouldn't discount the option of filing for bankruptcy. Bankruptcy will mess with your credit, but the road you're heading down now could do just as much damage. I suggest you try to get some offline financial advice.

This is the end of what little savings I had. I didn't find SEO till May, been looking and learning. I've done other things since I lost my job, but they haven't made much money either. Wrote a few books. I was looking in job ads, found a few jobs for SEO, started looking into it, thought I'd give it a try. Found threads on here claiming you can make x amount of money working from home doing some of these things. Been trying to learn, did the articles but it's tedious, and I was hoping there was something more lucrative. So I posted this thread. Sounds like I'm going to be looking at those job ads again. Maybe, I can try some of these other methods/online marketing in my spare time.

BTW, the $4000 is including $775 in taxes I'll have to pay. I wasn't looking for a "push a button and make $4000" gimmick. I just needed to know if I was wasting my time with any of the methods on here. If it's not possible, that's what I want to know. Now, I can decide if I can keep pumping out these articles, or look for an offline job without wasting my time researching.

keep looking for a job (don't limit yourself to one state. if you find a good opportunity elsewhere, pack up and move) and if you have writing skills, then I'd suggest you open up an account on odesk, PPH, freelancer, etc Look into article writing gigs, tech support gigs (if available), VA gigs, etc

you probably won't make 4k per month working online but you can definitely make something if you keep working at it. Its just like any business.. you gotta plant the seed and nurture its growth before it bears fruit. If you have good credit, I'd also suggest taking out some money from your credit cards to cover your bills until you find a job.

You CANNOT expect to make any money off "Methods." The only way to create true value is to create your own unique method of making money. If someone has posted a method, it has either been saturated to the point of it making no money, or just a sham to convince you to purchase something.

I'm a college student in the U.S. right now, and a last year I had nothing in the bank, but I took what skills I had and started a gaming service website. I made over 100K last year which I used to purchase a rental property in my university district. Just build your capital and invest in opportunities that present themselves. They are everywhere. The key is to be unique and do something that your peers haven't done and copying someone's method will not produce any worthwhile results. Take a look at your talents and how you can monetize them - if someone was employing you for 75k a year then you obviously have value to your company. You worked there for over a decade, and since no one will hire someone that doesn't make them money, you must have made the company many folds of the money their paid you in salary. Everything can be monetized.

If I were in your position right now, I would read extensively on SEO. It will take you a few months to get the details down, but once you understand what SEO is the rest will come to you easily. Just read threads here on BHW and you will learn very quickly. I'd advise targeting local SEO. This niche is usually extremely easy depending on where you live and all you pretty much need to do is build citations and manage a company's google+ page in order to rank in the 7-box. Once you learn more about local SEO just call up various low competition business niches in your community (perhaps dry cleaners, painters, landscaping, etc) and pitch them a results based partnership. Pay per lead or monthly subscription. Remember that you need to set yourselves apart from the crowd and success will follow.

At this point I'm thinking about filling bankruptcy and finding a trailer to live in... or an island... handing out towels sounds pretty nice.

I suggest this is your best plan. Get a part time job, save up a few thousand dollars while living on next to nothing, then head somewhere like Asia, or Germany, or south America. Your life will change, and it might just be the breath of life that you need.

Yet you expect to make more in a month than most make ever?

Keep in mind this guy has some start up capital. People that can't make 4k ever usually don't have the funds to purchase necessary tools to succeed in our field. With the correct education and persistence I'm confident he can find some way to reach his goal.

If you are able of producing quality content, you should look into writing content in the BST section. There you can sell 500 word articles for a ridiculous amount, check out Natasha Nixon's thread.

Thank you very much! I am looking at that now. Maybe, I can work under NatashaNixon to build my experience. Being able to sell my 500 word articles for more money, may give me enough time to implement some other sources of steady income, that may build over time. I'm seeing a few other sites that may pay more as well.

Thanks again. :)

It's going to be hard to make 4k a month straight-up. The best solution for quick income is to get a day job. Lower your expenses while at the same time building business on the web.

EDIT: Nevermind, misread. Op, what state do you live in that your bills are so high? Must be NY....

4k a month doesn't buy what it used to used to. It will cost you $1800 a month just to get by in the Philippines. But, the funny thing is that people that don't have money get by.

Best solution is to either move to the Philliphines or cut your expenses.

Red beans, rice and tube of meat. Maybe a little spat of butter on Fridays to inspire greatness to come.

When you reach a certain level closer to the top step back and look at what you know. Then sit there a second and spread your peacock buthole feathers and enjoy, because nobody else does.

Get back out there with a little extra pep in your step.

affiliate marketing... if you need to pay bills and need money fast you can use churn & burn tactics
find a niche website, and suitable affiliate partnerships -- figure out if the site has monetization already in-place (if so find way to circumvent it) and promote affiliate offers/deals
getting approved for a affiliate network like skimlinks will get you access to a lot of affiliates at once...but be careful with the type of traffic you drive, depending on the affiliate you choose to work with.

I found a popular website in the past and figured out how to promote amazon links, would pull in about ~2k some months with 20hrs of "work"... like I said, it's a churn and burn technique and it'll become a cat & mouse game real fast, but it's possible to make quick cash if you know enough about your target, site mods & users.

If you want to make quick cash, try Fiverr. You get $4 for every gig you sell. I am being honest to sweet baby Jesus, you can get a great article spinner. Spin the article on the niche that your customer has requested, and spend 15 minutes looking over the dang thing.

After you build up some capital from Fiverr, you can use your earnings directly to buy Instagram shoutouts. The Instagram followers that these shoutouts will generate are absolutely real. You can build up a fanbase of 20k or more in under a month; and start selling shoutouts yourself. You can also join a mobile-app focused CPA network... and make bank.

...or you can cash out Fiverr directly to PayPal and pay more bills, but I would choose the Instagram way if you want to make a bunch more. I am not even kidding.

a big difference of working for someone else and working for yourself is Investment and Risk.

If you work for someone else, then someone else is investing and someone else is taking a risk. Their return on investment will probably take a bit longer, but hopefully will be much bigger.

If you work for yourself you need to invest as well.... and investment is something that takes time (or money)... and you don't seem to have any of those.

I would advise you to get a dayjob and if you are interrested in working from home, you should invest your evenings and weekends in order to grow your business.

Ah yes, you can get a part time job. Spend several hours at work out of the 12+ hours you are awake. Then spend several hours mhmm following my advice.

Who ever says that you cant make $4,000 in one month are the biggest pieces of shit out there. It may be quote-on-quote "impossible" for them, because they spent 75% of their time stimulation their testosterone levels.

If you're desperate, sell any item you don't use or need. Go without cable, downgrade your phone, work on fiverr, and of course look for a new job.

A lot of methods in IM also require some initial investment, whether it is software, proxies, articles, housing, paying for knowledge, subscriptions etc and you don't quite seem in the situation to make these investments. I would start by getting a part time job anywhere, even if it is low paid as that is guaranteed income. Then once you have a base you can depend upon, then you can start branching out.
