Lost my job, need to make $4000

Hello, I?ve been reading this forum for a few weeks, looking for ways to make money. I was trying to learn on my own without posting something like this, but frankly, I?m running out of time.

I?m looking for some direction from the experts on here. I understand that most of the methods described on here require several months to build up the income if you keep working at it, but I need a way to make at least a couple thousand dollars in July.
I worked a tech support job for a very large communications company for 18 years. My job was sent overseas (outside U.S.). I was looking to learn SEO, when I came across this site. After 18 years of being micromanaged, I would really like to make money working from home. The problem is that I am quickly running out of money & therefore time. I?ve just emptied the last $4000 from my 401k to pay my bills next month.
I?ve been trying to find and read as much as I can on this site, but I keep coming across methods that no longer work, or only generate a few hundred dollars a month.

I first read about writing articles for Yah oo with Upfront payments. I figured, IF they paid $6 per article, and if I wrote 3 articles an hour x 8 hours x 7 days a week, I could make enough to cover my bills. However, Yah oo is having some kind of problem, and hasn?t been reviewing articles for several weeks. Apparently, I chose the wrong time to join. Currently, I have about 55 articles on YCN that haven?t even been looked at. I?m tempted to take all of those articles and go somewhere else with them, but I don?t know what other site to use.

I read a thread on here regarding using Tumblr to target traffic for an adult niche site, but I guess Tumblr banned a bunch of accounts, and you can?t use the ad services on there anymore?

Recently, I was reading about email-marketing on here, which sounds promising, but I?m not sure I can make enough money in the short amount of time I have.

I hate to ask, but I really need some spoon-feeding. Every day that I?m reading forum threads means I?m not writing articles. However, I?d rather not spend 8-10 hours a day x 7 days a week generating articles for a few dollars in the hopes that Yah oo will actually pay me for them. Can someone point me in the right direction? Is it even possible to make a few thousand dollars in the first month? I?m willing to work the hours; I just don?t know what direction to focus on. I can usually learn things quickly, I?ve got a technical and creative background. I can?t afford to spend another week going in the wrong direction.Lost my job, need to make $4000

Have you tried Fiverr or any of the Freelancer sites?
You won't get spoon-fed here, nobody is going to take you by the hand and teach you how to make money.
You will get advice but it is highly unlikely you will make $4000 in your first month.

You do understand that the grand majority of BHW users are not making even few hundred bucks a month, despite being in the game for months - or even years? And you really expect to rake in $2000+ in your first month?

IM really doesn't happen overnight, and if you're as desperate as you lead us to believe, then you really should be looking into freelancing - if you got any skills in anything.

Also OP, you need to be realistic about the amount of articles you can write in an hour.
A well researched article will take time.
If you try just constantly churning them out then they will have little quality and you will get demotivated and demoralised.
Also working 7 days a week consistently will burn you out.

In this type of situation it is sometimes worthwhile getting a partime job just so you can cover your expenses.

Ahhaha. So true. You can't expect the small percentage of BHWers actually making bank to show you how, when most BHWers that are - made it there themselves. Sucks to be in that situation - but many of us have been in it. By the way, $4,000 per month on bills? Where do you live lmao.

I think I may have found your problem simply by quoting your words above.

To the rest of your post - I would simply say that you appear to be more aware of your limitations than of your abilities. You've written at length about what you can't do, and why you can't do it, however - I don't see you writing about your best options, and attempting to prioritize them.

Perhaps the best thing you can do is go away from IM for a while, and come back when you're in a better place overall.

Though it's not for lack of ability or opportunity - rather, a lack of imagination.

The fishing is best where fewest go.

I've been in IM for a long time and can tell you that making $4k the first month is unrealistic. You can try a combination of advice mentioned above combined with getting a day job.

If you are desperate for money and need to take care of yourself and your family then the quickest way might be getting a job. You gotta do what you have to for now in order to survive - even if it means getting a job.

This is what I am wondering-if it is realistically possible. I posted this thread, so I can see if any of it is worth spending time on. Sounds like most of you are not making much money with any of these methods.

Yeah, I'd rather not write a ton of articles for a few dollars seven days a week, but it actually sounds better than going back to some corporate job. Sounds like that is going to be my only other option.

I signed up for hosting with RMX Hosting that I found on this site. After several weeks of no responses, the entire site changed to another company. Basically, they left their site up and running, collecting money, while they were bought out by a different company. Got ripped off.

Drastically cutting your expenses and looking for as many jobs as you can is going to have a much higher chance of success than starting IM now.

It is impossible to make $4000 in your first month, it can take upto 6 months to 1 year for you to reach this target if you work 10 hours a day.

It took me around 7-8 months for my first $1k month online, and even then I'm struggling now to keep that passive income growing while working part time.

Honestly, try your best to scale back your lifestyle, swallow your pride, and get a job while doing this part-time.

My suggestion is to cut your expenses by moving into a smaller place, getting rid of your car if you have a car payment and grabbing a clunker, selling off stuff you own that you don't use (we all have some crap lying around) and living more frugal. You have 18 years experience in tech support. Help desk and desktop support positions are a dime a dozen in a lot of areas. Go and find another tech support job (even if it's just a short contract job) and learn IM in your free time.

It's not as simple as blaming any "method" for not working; basically everything posted publicly has been done to death and it won't just work out of the box. There's people banking with every mothod you described, but on the other side of the coin there's thousands who are not.

EDIT: Nevermind, misread. Op, what state do you live in that your bills are so high? Must be NY....

Thanks for the responses. I already cut back on my expenses. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment, I drive a 19 year old junker car. I've had a lot of s*** happen over the last ten years that has put me into a lot of debt-most of it is from my ex-wife, and the underwater house I was stuck paying for, over the same time period. I keep thinking about bankruptcy since I lost my job, but I hate to have that hanging over me for the next ten years. And, a part of me actually believes in paying my debts-even if my ex was supposed to be paying them.

It's not pride that has kept me from getting another corporate grind job. It's the 18 years of someone standing by your cubicle telling you that you are 1 minute late coming back from your 15 minute break. Or having a manager follow me to the break room to tell me I can't get water. Or, having a manager follow people into the bathroom and pacing outside their stall to tell them to get back to work. Or, watching a co-worker with MS getting harassed and fired for not being able to keep her numbers up. For being yelled at not to say hello to your co-workers when they come in in the morning. For being put on "improvement plans" and having your job threatened because you only closed 1.43/hr tickets instead of 1.45 - oh and that data is from the week before they told you, that you need to close 1.45. I could write a book about the s*** I've put up with - all of that has filled me with dread of having another damn idiot micromanaging boss. The only reason I stayed at that job was because they paid me 75k a year. Now, I'm trying to live on half that, with the same bills.

At this point I'm thinking about filling bankruptcy and finding a trailer to live in... or an island... handing out towels sounds pretty nice.
