Looking for qualified programmer for BigCommerce

Hey everybody,

I hired someone 1 month ago, in order to implement my designs into bigcommerce. Unfortunately, it seemed like they weren't really capable of reading, as they haven't understood any of my requirements. I'm looking for someone who can code a responsive design in BigCommerce according to my requirements.

Note: I don't pay even 1 penny before the work is done. I got ripped off the third time now (ok, atleast I get my money back), so I'm not even considering paying before I see what I requested. Also, if you're incapable of delivering on schedule, better go away. I'm already pissed enough because EVERY goddamn programmer I hired so far takes 3x as much time as originally set... without even delivering the end result I require... :X

haha. Good luck finding someone who will work with no payment upfront. I understand that you may have been scammed before, but that's your issue, since you didn't use freelancer or something like that to hold the payment till you are happy with the result.

you can use escrow mate. BUT if you won't pay even 1 penny before the work is done is silly.

why dont you tried Paypal Then?
they have enough option, get your money back, if its undone

You cannot get the money back from paypal if it's not a physical product. Atleast paypal told me that after I requested a refund for being scammed. Not really an option.

I have no problem to do it via escrow on elance or freelancer. Absolutely no problem! But I won't pay upfront via paypal or any other provider, as I know that I cannot get my money back.

Worst case, we can make two milestones. 50% after homepage and product page is done (for example), and the last 50% when the rest is completed. However, I'm NOT going to pay before I see something! I'm so pissed after losing a $2000 project, and now my own ecommerce store doesn't get done either... reviews and portfolio seem to have absolutely no value (as all of them had 5 star reviews...)

note: When I'm working on a job, I'm not expecting pay on the start of the month either. So, I don't see any reason to do upfront payment. I have no problem doing that with whom I trust (such as my designer), but since I lost so much money recently... NEVER again with someone I haven't had experience with!

Michael, just like there are scammer providers, there are scammer buyers. That said, the best thing to do is use escrow. The second best thing is milestones.

Of course there are scammers on both sides. But it seems to me that 99,99% of all programmers are complete IDIOTS.

They don't even bother to read my requirements, and then complain to me that I'm not happy with what they give me. It's so ridiculous. And that, even though I waited twice as long as scheduled. I'm done being nice in that regard. Whether someone can do it in the given time, or he wasted his time, because I won't pay a penny. Period. This is actually how business in the real world runs (not that amateur crap). For example, my cousin works in construction. If he's ONE WEEK late, the company loses half a million euros. If he's 3 weeks late, he won't get even one cent, and he still has to deliver the full product.

Being nice is really the most stupid thing I ever did in business. It cost me several thousand $$$.

You know the saying, "if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys". A $150/hour programmer and a $5/hour one have to differ in something

Your fault for not protecting yourself with a legal contract with the previous designers, not ours, so don't pass your issues onto us. I wouldn't ask you to do your job and then decide if I want to pay you afterwards, so don't do that to anyone else unless you're just that disrespectful. So, if you want an experienced team, get in touch - however, we will require you sign a contract that indicates the completion schedule we have to meet and the payment schedule you have to meet.
