Hi Guys,

I am trying to work on something for myself, and I need to know if somebody has a script that will query domain registars and return a list of domains that are registered but NOT hosted anywhere

Note, I do not mean type in or enter a list of domain names, and wait for the result from the relevent registrar(s). I specifically mean to query the domain registrars database and ONLY return registered domains that are not hosted.

I realise if possible I could end up with millions of domains, so clearly the scripts would be run, and output say 1,000 results at a time or something like that?

If there is no such script, maybe one of you would like to code such a script and I can cut you in on the profits?

You'd have to hire someone.
I don't think it would be too hard to do. I think there are sites that list recently registered domains. And you'd probably just use a footprint on them to find the default sites the top registars use.

Thank you very much. I appreciate the tip.

To start I will look for websites that tell me recently registered sites. Then if it works well for me (as in making money) then i can hire someone to do it.

I figured it out and its making me money.

Short story is get the zone files for .com and .net and then run a script to find unhosted domains and email them with a hosting offer.

starting 2012 you can buy any TLD you want, guaranteed there will be .casino, .sex, .money domains should probably hold off on your script til you find out all the new TLDs rollin out by end of year

if some online casino buys .casino and you simply enter 'casino' into the address bar on your browser their site will load up

so you are grabbing the whois and sending the hosting offer there ?
be careful, using whois to solicit is . . . will get you banned from pull down the zones.

Are you syncing the zones daily ?
