Hey, Yes you are right that India has low per capita income satistically speaking it's less than 1$ per day

And now let me First introduce you to India - Well it is known to be a Country of Diversities........ World's Richest Person LN Mittal, Ambani Brothers also hails from India.
Many of Wall street punters(Rajat gupta, Raj rajaratnam, Ashu Jain, Vikram pandit) earning Billions are also from India similarly in IT Field Vinod Dham, Sabeer Bhatia etc. Other notable corporate Indians Swaraj Paul, Sam Pitroda, Indu Nooyi, Lakshmi niwas Mittal to mention a few.

About Indian talent-
Indian gave the world most important number "0"
Indian made the world's first e-mail system now what we know as Hotmail
An Indian Invented of World's first processor chips- Pentium
Co-Founder of Sun Microsystems is a Indian

38% of doctors in USA are INDIANs.
12% scientists in USA are INDIANs.

28% of IBM employees are INDIANs.

I wish before developing such an image about India just on the basis of one documentary
you had done some google search or if you feel that wastage of time PM me I will send you
more data on India......

And considering the Job profile (asking for English fluent guy with web developer skills and 9to6 job timing) you mentioned I just want to wish you ALL THE BEST!!! for your search

I think you got misguided by the documentary. Which F*in documentary said $35 is the average wage? Possibly, the poor are making that and they don't have any skills and you want a skilled graphics designer.The average middle class guy in India earns around $200-400 per month. If you are looking for a graphics designer with the skills you want, I don't think you will find any decent designer at the salary you want to offer.

I would suggest you increase your offer if you want someone half decent.
 
We Indians are also considered humble, polite, and friendly people.:) Therefore, many people make "undue impolite (rude, insulting) advances" towards Indians and still get away with it.:)

if you need web designers/developers from India.. consider a budget of atleast $500 per month and you can get some good freshers..
btw.. that $35 is a good salary.. Man.. I don't want to live on this planet anymore :banghead:

Like I said, I don't know nothing about India, I saw that documentary and I thought "if 35$ is a good salary, if I offer 100$ shouldn't be that bad", I'm not insulting, being rude, etc for Indian people.

I thought it was a Win-Win deal.

Anyway, thank you for your insights on India, that really made me aware of things I didn't knew about.

It's being unaware of how to mix on an international forum. There are plenty of 'documentaries' about your place too, but we don't allow those to make rude comments that can hurt plenty of people from that land who have nothing to do with those documentaries.

Be aware of this next time and oblige. This is a forms where we try to maintain a very high standard. We respect our members and everything about them. Do not hurt them or their feelings after seeing some stupid documentary. They are as much intelligent as anyone else here. Respect them and you'll make enough friends that may even work for you for those low payments if you cannot afford higher payments. It's trust, respect, and friendships that run businesses here. Others land in the Shitlists.

I kept inturrupting your request thread only to make you aware that you began on a wrong foot.

Hope you get a good freelancer for a good price. Good luck to you in future, friend. It pays to know where you actually are, and BHW is the best place to learn these basics... :)

If I wanted to explore/insult someone I wouldn't do this, I just did this because based on that documentary, I thought that I could hire people for a low salary (for me), and a high salary (for Indian people).

If you don't understand the paragraph above, just get the f. out of this thread.

There's threads on BHW with people offering 1000$ per month to webdesigners in India, and even then, there's people saying that 1000$ it's a low salary...
Seriously, stfu, I guess that by now, everyone knows that for example in UK a good webdesigner can earn 100k+ per year, but that's not the reason for every webdesigner in the World earn the same.

And to end this stupid conversation, understand that my intention was to give a better salary to any Indian guy that earned a low income and knew how to webdesign, if that salary is not 35$ and it is 400$, then so be it, but you need to realise, that I didn't knew that, until now.

You made your bed by creating a thread without verifying whatever documentary you watched... people responded based on what you wrote (so now you are left to either ''lie on it'' or have the thread deleted or closed). You can't really get mad at them - you initiated the whole thing
 
I'm posting a job on here tomorrow, very similar to yours. However, I'll be offering to pay more per hour than what you are offering to pay per day ...

There is a limit on how far we will go when it comes to making cash and saving cash. What your doing is just straight up exploitation.

There are two India as we know it

One you see in the documentaries are part of India which don't even know about computers and internet

And the one you see on bhw are Indians who consider 20$ a day low payment

It's really shameful act that some people are trying to make fun out of this issue.......Don't know whether they know what motherland means and what it feals when somehow you or your feelings get hurted!! Don't know what type of education they have got.
