LONGFORM YOUTUBE AUTOMATION WITH AI [JOURNEY]

Hey everyone, I’ve been lurking for months now but I decided to finally enter the fray with a YT Automation Journey Thread.

The Plan:
  • Making faceless content longform
  • Going into niche with $10-15 RPM (some sources say it’s as high as $30, but I really doubt it)
  • Doing high quality solely AI videos using VEO (using genaipro), getting the prompts from Gemini.
  • I have already made 4 videos, they generally take about 2 hours to make, not very focused work (I literally just put prompts into VEO)

Why I am sharing this:
  • I’ve been trying to do YT Automation for about a year now and I have made progress but always eventually gave up. I want this to not only keep myself accountable but also potentially inspire others to give it a shot too.
  • My goal is to get monetized by the end of December, and begin to make $1500 a month by the end of January.

Other notes:
  • I won’t be sharing the channel niche or channel name in order to reduce competition.
  • This niche (I am noticing) is getting kind of saturated but it is also quite new. Channels are getting viral videos as recently as yesterday so I don’t think it’s dead.
  • I’ll try my best to share as much information as possible in order to help others enter in different niches. This includes channel stats, which I’ll try to update daily
  • My goal is to upload 1 video a day, potentially more.
  • The channel is pretty warmed up, made in 2022 and warmed up for about 2-3 weeks.

Subscribers: 12 (I started with 7)

So Far:
Relatively happy with the stats so far. I got good views for a first video but each video is getting less and less views which is a little demotivating. Oh well, just gotta keep going lol

Update:

It's been about 5 days since the first video and I got another one that did decently well. So far genuinely I think I just need to keep posting and one of these will go pretty viral. I have pretty good stats on them, especially in the RPM sense (87% watching on TV, 46% AVD, 5.4% CTR).

Still, nothing very special, however now that I have 5 videos YouTube might know who my audience is and tailor accordingly.

Yep, I take like 120 prompts and put them through veo, put them together, add a watermark for my channel and post it.
 
Early dips are normal. Post daily, maintain steady quality and your warm up plus an active niche should get you to monetization.

That’s a lots of generations and you already created 5 videos but that website charged you only $5. Hmmm.
Also, don’t you get any bad generations or failures in those 120 prompts?

I definitely get some bad generations and lots of failures. I unfortunately can't just batch generate with a list of prompts and it takes about 1.5-2 hours to do the generations. I usually just leave the bad generations in unless it's in the first 30-60 seconds.
 
Initial drops happen often, but sticking to daily uploads and gradually refining your videos usually brings growth and builds watch time steadily.
 
Update:

About a week in and so far, nothing too special. I think I need to really focus on making my hooks (first 30-60 seconds) VERY very high quality, extremely good generations, in order to really get it pushed to the algorithm. I've been keeping consistent though, and I'm not giving up. I also ended up finding a new service for generations which works better for me and is about the same price. It's a monthly subscription.

One thing that is frustrating is looking at the stats, and seeing there's really nothing wrong with watch time, CTR, etc. and not knowing WHY YouTube didn't push it further. It's possible later on YouTube will push it though, which is why I am keen on staying consistent and not giving up. All it takes is one video.

Slow and steady. It's good since you will reach watchtime/subs at about the same time
 
Update:

Actually the best day so far, so that makes me pretty happy. Older videos gaining slow and steady traction (about 25 views an hour) which again, I would like one to go viral but at least I have some steady growth.

Also almost 10% of the way there with watch time for monetization. It's looking like I'm going to hit that watch time mark faster than the sub mark, which makes sense because most of my audience is on TV, so I might start making shorts to boost up the subscribers. Either that or including a CTA to sub in the videos. Genuinely though, a short will probably take like 10 minutes from start to finish to make a short too so I mind as well.

Update:

I have decided to start doing 1 short a day in order to boost subscribers. As such, for my stats I will be separating Longform Views and Shortform Views just because longform and shortform content are so different.

I also made an "ULF" (ultra longform) video by combining old videos together in order to boost watch time, but honestly it didn't work that well. Retention just wasn't there. Maybe I'll try another one once the channel is monetized because those videos can have insane RPM.

Again, just keeping consistent until I get that breakthrough. I guess a good milestone is that I am officially 10% of the way there to getting monetized (watch hours wise)!

Update:

Honestly a bit annoyed with the stagnating progress on new videos. Newest video got 11 views in 24 hours. An old one ended up getting some traction, and went from 450-1,000 views within 48 hours, but again, stagnant. The main graph is a bit deceiving just because it includes the shorts so I am including a Long Form graph as well.

Not to say I am giving up. I just have to adjust my strategy a bit and see how it'll go. The shorts aren't doing too bad but I've ran shorts channels before and I know 30k views a short is pretty common so the results for them aren't really that great yet.

Not giving up, staying consistent. Maybe I'll try changing some old thumbnails to try and get some traction on the old videos. Looking at some competitors, they did the same and it ended up working. Might spend an hour doing that today.

Traction seems perfect. But I wonder if it'll pay off. 120 generations = $1 seems a bit tricky, how do you do it?
 
Looks very promising. How much time do you invest per video? And do you plan to automate generation further?

With an Ultra Google AI account you get infinite "fast" generations at "low priority" for free. Only problems I run into are that sometimes (like 1 out of 50 videos) do not generate with audio so I just generate them again. I found a provider selling Ultra accounts for $30 a month, and there you go.
