If I wanted to list a shit load of related keyword strings somewhere on my WP blog in an effort to increase traffic, with no relevancy to the content but related to my content, would this get me banned from the search engines?

How can I hide something like this from my visitors eyes?

Also would listing these keywords with the same color as the background get me banned?

Thanks will be given!

That's an old trick and yeah, will probably get your affiliate accounts (and maybe your domain) banned. Listing a ton of keywords is far too much work for the amount of traffic you might get anyway. Why not pay for targeted traffic instead or attract your own with long tailed targeted keywords? Inflating traffic is pretty useless financially, unless you're stuffing or using a drive-by installer.

And why would it exactly get your affiliate account banned?

IF it's related to our content over all, but not for a particulcar page why don't you build page just for these words? If the words are related to each other, then in writing a rubbish content page, that merely includes the words in some kind of hotch-potch way, you can at least benefit from an LSI standpoint. Which really should be your goal by the sounds of it.

I don't thin having hidden text that is not of Adult, hate or racial nature will get you banned.

Only thing classified as spam is unsolicited email posts.

And what you put on your site is up to you and no one else.
If I want to cloak my page it is my full right to do so.
And it is full right of google to not include me in there index if they find out about it.

So please elaborate, are you actually just guessing that this would happen or you have personal experience with getting booted because of your page?

Let me qualify that statement. Quality affiliate accounts will ban you, as hidden text is considered akin to spamming. Lesser quality accounts, or those that look the other way "might" let you get away with it but say goodbye to ranking and hello to finding another way to pull traffic. Too much work for not enough ROI.

Thanks guys...why are people saying it is too much work? Cant you just go to google keyword tool and download all your similar keywords in a txt file?

Ok I can understand that you will be booted by google adsense as you would get contextual ads for keywords that your users are not searching for.

So yes, but Adsense is not affiliate marketing.

So still stand for what I said earlier, you won't get banned by an affiliate network because of this as it is simply non of their business.

But you will get banned for anything that would be leading the system to show ads that are not relevant to your page as that would just cost the company money but you would not generate them any sales as it is not relevant ads for your page.

I'm assuming you would be placing the keywords in the meta tags, as well as on the main page, and the sidebars, headers, footers, posts. If you are just going to place them on the front page/index page, then you have to format the visible text with the white text.
