Hi guys,

I just got a $50 coupon from linkedin, so thought of trying out linkedin ads. Do you guys have any experience with linkedin ads? Facebook to me is better than adwords, but I don't know how linkedin works. It seems that the minimum cpc is $2 and minimum cpm cost $2 per 1000 impressions. What is the best means of getting visits and conversions. It is going to be for a web development, mobile websites, mobile apps and SEO service. I have created separate campaigns, but the image added is just 50X50 px, will CPM type of ads work? If the conversion is good, then I will ditch adwords altogether.

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

49% of LinkIn users (last year) were "professionals" making 100K/yr+.
It's nice to promote products to people who actually have the money to spend.
My opinion and I could say a lot more, but I won't.
 
I just got around to using my $50 coupon today, I started a couple different variations of my ad, all CPC. So far not much to report but it's only a couple hours in.

My first impression is use CPC, not impressions (no pun intended). In my first couple clicks, I got more impressions than I would have going with the CPM mode.

I also like that they'll optimize your campaign to show whichever ad is getting the best response if you choose to run variations.

Also if you're like me and your main goal is trying to build an offline client base, LinkedIn seems like it has the potential to reach those clients. We'll see though.
 
Where in the world is my coupon? I wonder how I have not been emailed one yet? Is that the only way to obtain these?
 
Have you created a company page? I got my coupon emailed to me a couple days after I created mine. Don't know if it matters how much content you first put on it, I had just filled in the basics and added one service page.

I had zero conversions on that coupon 6 months ago... maybe because I was offering hosting. but I thought at that time it was a good niche.
 
If you can offer them something useful for online business then you just found a goldmine,
few examples of good converting niches : Forex, Offshore banking, Emailing, Marketing, Leads, Company Leads

I was selling niche targeted leads on Linkedin and made some good cash.
 
Think I'm going to try my hand at LinkedIn advertising. Going to try and google for a coupon. If I can't find one. Anybody else have any other ideas?
