Link Building Through a 301

There's a lot of people here on BHW arbitrarily making up limits, ie once, or twice, or whatever - but so far nobody has done a proper experiment or case study to my knowledge...

cool, how many in your experience? I just got my first sub domain slapped, I'm gonna change the redirect over to a new sub domain and see how long that lasts. I guess it's until G de-index the main 301'd site?

Is it a really competitive niche, the one in which you got slapped? And how long was it banking prior that?

I don't really have any experience to share RE the useful limit for changing 301's, I've only ever done it twice on a single domain, and no problems... again, I'm in low-med comp niches, so I just don't get slapped very often (if ever!) :D

No it's just a LOW comp niche, the first re-direct to a sub-domain only lasted 3 weeks..

Hi guys, i have idea and i want to know how good it is.

For example, i have an expired DA 40 domain with mostly brand and naked urls. (No special kw related anchors) Then i have for example expired domain with da 30 (No special kw related anchors).

i want to 301 DA 40 to DA 30 site. Then i would build "cheap" ass backlinks with loads of anchors, related to content on DA30 that becomes money site. If i get penalized on da30, the da 40 domain should remain intact and could be used for next money site to be 301 right? No harm done to DA40 while it just passes authority even if da30 get slapped?

Yes, that's right. As you're putting in a 301 redirect the move is seen as permanent and the DA40 won't be looked at until the 301 is removed.

I dont understand your answer. Do you confirm, that DA 40 dont get penalized if da 30 gets

Yes. That's correct.

cool, I was wondering this also... Ninya, would you know roughly how long, or how many times you can keep on changing the 301 re-direct over to a new domain, before the link juice becomes ineffective?

I can't see that happening unless the individual links themselves start getting devalued which is only natural after time unless you consistently build new links.

If your 301 domain gets penalized, do you still think it will pass the value?

I have a website that I built for churn and burn but I did not heavily spammed it because my niche is of low or medium competition. I just made about 200 sape and rest PBN and web2.0 and made to the top and stayed there for 2 months. Now the ranking is dropping and some keywords are in the 300+ positions some keywords are still ranking. DO you suggest that I 301 this domain to the new one and keep building links? should I point the sape to the new moneysite or keep it on the old domain that will plan to 301?

thanks

No, don't do that - the new domain will also get penalized, in time.

The point of link building through a 301 is to have all of your links isolated from a possible penalty, because G isn't yet going up-stream and penalizing your link sources, just devaluing them as they relate to your site.
So if you build all your links to a 301 that goes to your money site, your money site will rank until it gets slapped. When it does, it doesn't matter, because you then just switch the 301 to a new money site.

301'ing a slapped site will transfer the penalty, which is exactly the point of what I have stated here - keep all your link juice isolated from potential for penalty, and just point it at whatever site you like.

You mean if I transfer SAPE to the new domain it will get penalized or 301'ing the slapped domain to the money site?

I understand the transferring of 301 to the new domain but I am not clear about this. If the 301 domain get slapped, isn't it the same thing as 301ing a slapped domain which I am thinking of doing? How do you know if the money site got penalized or the 301'd domain?

If i build sape links and other links as you mentioned to the 301 domain? Your 301'd domain can still be penalized right?

I am sorry for so many questions and thanks for all your answers on this thread. It really Helped me alot =)

If you 301 the penalized domain to a new money site, the new money site will inherit the penalty. Not right away, but it will happen.

Sure, but the 301 domain doesn't get slapped because it's not ranking and G doesn't yet transfer penalties upstream to your link/301 sources. So your money site gets slapped, but your link juice stays in tact, ready to point elsewhere.

It probably can, but it hasn't happened to me yet. I'm starting to take the view that penalties are only initiated and applied when a site is ranking, so, given that your 301 site doesn't rank because it's just a 301, it should be safe from penalty as things stand now, if my theory is correct.

Hey I have a couple of more questions :D

Do you 301 the domain without hosting it or do you 301 it after hosting through .htaccess?

Is it a good idea to buy a deluxe godaddy hosting with unlimited domains and keep hosting new domains on them after they the penalized? or do you suggest buying separate hosting for every moneysite.

thanks

Heres no need for hosting bro. You can 301 redirect from your registrar.

THOUGH, i would recommend getting a cheap host, set your .htaccess file so that no spider from ahrefs and such get your site in their index. This is the only reason i think of getting a host, except if you can edit the .htaccess file from your registrar.

thanks buddy and what about the idea of hosting money websites on a single hosting that allows unlimited domains? like in godaddy I can get deluxe hosting for 50 USD and then buy .com for as little as 4 dollars with privacy.

That's what I am doing without a problem yet.
If you are paranoid you can buy dedi IPs for your sites so that at least they are seen as different IPs.

Lots of great advice in this thread, I just read through all of it. Anybody ever managed to rank highcomp with sape?

ive only done it with low comp, cheap speed rank package :)
