Link Building Through a 301

Great informations tony_d. Can 301 domains for link juice and money page be on the same hosting ?

I tend not to have them on shared hosting. Some of my 301's are done via the name servers, so no hosting is required.

Maybe a dumb question but if I am understand this correctly you 301 redirect to your money site and watch it rank, when it inevitably passes on a penalty you then take the site you had just ranked and redirect it too, correct?

If this is true, why do you bother? Your initial redirects already have proven to rank you for you keywords. Do you see even BETTER rankings after redirecting the newly penalized site too? You are not concerned that the additional redirect(s) will pass a penalty sooner? (3, 4, 5 or more penalized domains passing juice instead of just the initial 2)

Thanks for the great thread!

tony_d I have few more questions

1) Landing page must be indexed when pointing 301 redirections or doesn't matter ?
2) You said that You using Sape Links. How long do You wait for pointing 301 with those links after ordering Sape service ?
3) For those ~200-300 wikis, articles links how many anchors do You use ? Do You build Tier 2 for this links for more power/indexation ?
4) You target for low-mid keywords. You mean low-mid keywords are keywords which have Bellow 10 000 monthly searches ? or You use other indicator for choosing keywords ?

Hi tony_d,
When you get hit, you make a new website and then redirect your sape links (via 1 domain) to new website. But do you deindex you penalized website - if so - how you do that?
How long you wait unitl you build your new money site?

About the 100 sape links , what PR do you buy? Do you have a type of profile link for sape?

Most of the questions which were asked in the previous 3 posts have their answer in the past pages. I really can't understand why people, if they are interested in one subject, don't read an entire thread. Beside finding answers for their questions, they might find some other golden nuggets as well.

A lot of people fail in IM just because they refuse to read :)

just bought 1 expired domain from 2001 with decent DA and PA ... and small amount of old backlinks... and I'm gonna use another 1yr old domain (that I already had) to both 301 to my money site.. which domain would be best to use my high PR links on? the new one with no backlinks or DA/PA or the older one?? thanks for the info guys

1. Build money sites w/ contents.
2. 301 and bank!

I have been trying this method for a while and it worked ok, but yesterday i saw a drop an all my sites using 301 redirect. Any body else with the same experience?

Panda 4.0 update released by Google few days ago, seems to have effectively caught up with 301 Redirects.. my sites using this tactics have dropped and some even disappeared from top 100. Is anybody facing the same issue?

I tried the 301 redirect on 1 brand new site with some spammy blog posts for some easy local keywords. Worked great at first but this is the only site (out of 30 sites I am tracking) where the main keywords that I was targeting completely disappeared between May 18th and May 24th. The keywords came back on the 24th (thank goodness) but dropped about 6 positions from middle of 1st page to top of 2nd page. I know it was only 1 site, but it was the only one using a 301 and I am using the same links on several other sites without 301's. Some of the other sites dropped a few positions, but this was the only one where the anchor text targeted keywords disappeared for a few days. Other than causing me to worry, in the end it didn't really get penalized more than some of the other sites that had some minor drops. So I am thinking the drops are more related to the links themselves.

Maybe I will just do a couple sites with 301's and a couple without 301's using SAPE links to see if there is any difference.

That sounds like a great approach and something I also will test in the near future.

Wow thanks tony for all the advice. I have been trying to do something similar and this info will come handy.

Yes it does, run some test on a web.20 and see for yourself.

I still use it and rank my sites mid level health niches with nothing but tiered GSA links to a sub-domain.

I use the a sub domain that i link to since Oct 2013 and it has a huge amount of tiered links to it, and now i have my own little Ion Cannon (C&C players know what i am talking about :) )

You can redirect multiple websites per 301 if doing it right. I know a case where they used 25 smaller websites to make one big, all with 301 ;)
