Recently I have been losing likes on my accounts. Over the past 2-3 days they’ve gone down about 10% a day. This happened about 3 months ago and i just switched back to a personal account and it fixed. So i did that again this time, and was wondering if anyone else could know what happened. I don’t think I’m shadowbanned as i appear on hashtags and I’m still gaining the same number of followers per day. Any input would be appreciated!

I had the same problem in late February, about a week after I changed to a business account. So I switched it back to a personal account and then back to a business a couple days later and now the likes are back to normal. Perhaps it is a way for Instagram to get you to buy their page promotions?

That is what i am assuming as well. Oh well let’s hope it picks back up soon!

Decrease in engagement is a risk inherent when switching to a business account. The best thing to do is lay low and switch to a personal account for a while.

Thanks for the reply. That is what i have done and so far my likes in the first few hours of a post are almost half as many as i got on a post that is a day old. They must notice if a business page hasn’t bought ads and shadowban them, even though i was still showing up on hashtags.

How do you switch to personal from bussines??

I really love the analytics on the business account. I am thinking about switching back to personal though while I clean my account up (Removing ghost followers, unfollowing inactive/ghosts,etc.) does anyone have any really accurate apps/sites to track analytics in the meantime?

Yup IG just hates you right now because you didn't spend any money on ads. Sad but true. Many people have reported this, so it isn't just your account. In most cases your engagement will be back to normal in a week or a couple of weeks.
Try to find some viral content (even better than what you usually post). Post/repost that. Perhaps also use some different hashtags than before. Engage with your followers on your and their accounts a bit more. In short, be more active for a while until everything is back to normal.

This is why I hate switching to personal account. But luckily my bot has pretty good analytics (I'm using GMT2) but other than a bot I don't know of any other way to view them except SocialBlade.

Thanks for the feedback. This has happened to me once before, it's kinda lousy that they do that to accounts, especially smaller ones but I guess everyone has to make their money somehow.

Yes, if IG doesn't make money they will have to shut down their business and then we have to find another network for our activities :) So I agree that we can't be to angry with them.

I am testing this with my one backup account. I have noticed a sort of limitation in my exposure as well recently. I had two 1k+ likes in a row but now nothing gets more than 700 likes in a day.

Yeah, I ran GMT2 for a little while but I was kind of erratic with it. Not really on a schedule or anything. Plus my account was so far gone with bought follower, likes, views that it was really tough to differentiate what came from botting and what purely came from purchase. I am gonna probably start paying for it again once my account is cleaned up and I can really see what the impact is of my filters/settings. I was basically just throwing everything at my Instagram before without much thought/care haha
