Hey guys,

I bought a website that was making about 100 dollars a month for the past 3 months via Adsence.

I completed the transaction and 1 week later the website got hit with a penalty. This website is 5 years old and I bought from I thought a trust worthy seller.

I complained to him and he just told me he has no control which I understand but come on traffic that gets over 20k a month now get really nothing. My earnings is shit.

Has this happened to anyone else? I feel like calling my credit card company!!

Any advice would be appreciated!

Whats the name of that "trust worthy seller"? I still can't believe that the crook flippers and buyer end up on the same forum (here).

He def fucked you my man. Call your CC, that is my opinion. No reason to get burned.

It's on flippa... What would I say to my credit card company? I feel like the credit company would be like what a week later your website was penalized. I think the pos inflated his traffic? Any advice please

20K traffic a month and making just a $100 a month? That SUCKS big time. Crazy red flags there. Unfortunately you should have never bought it IMO. I'd tell the dude he better refund you or it's war and all is fair in war. I'd make sure his reputation was complete shit. Just my opinion though. Good luck.

There is a reason why people sell these websites, rarely is it because they dont have time to maintain it, more often it's because it's on the decline or as in this case maybe some blackhat practices caught up with the site.

I think you need to accept this as an expensive lesson and move onto better things.

So you think I should take the lost and not dispute it with cc company?

I think you should check Flippa's terms and faq, contact them if there is reason to suspect fraud. I assume you paid through them anyway?

What was the reason for the penalty?

I think you should forget about it. There was no fraud, sites get tanked, thats it. Your tanked one month after you bought it, hwo is this fraud? You got what you paid, you bought site he delivered. Get over it

P.S. You are the guy in the car

Which part was fraudalent? If the website was delivered as promised there was no fraud. It's up to the buyer to check out metrics and backlinks before purchase.
I know... Just sucks being scammed! 1 week later traffic gone and all... Wish I could get at least part of money back

How much did you paid for the website?

Next time dude create a thread here BEFORE buying a crappy website on flippa and put the tag #website advice ! It's definitely a lesson learned.

Hopefully that happens to you soon... I will give you tulips for your funeral

How much money did you spend on that domain?

To tell you the truth, noone is going to sell their "auto pilot" or "2-3 hours work per week only " type of sites.

You either buy sites that have solid business models and seriously never buy any sites that base their traffic on SEO, they sell it because they smell something is coming.
